Discharge of condition 11 of Planning Permission DM/21/01123/FPA relating to submission of a BREEAM rating of Very Good. The proposed development is not a conventional new build scheme and, taken together with the limitations of converting a statutorily listed building, it is not feasible to achieve BREEAM Very Good in its entirety. However, in light of the sustainability and energy efficiency targets of Policy 29, the TGA report provides a comprehensive overview of the extensive low carbon features incorporated into the scheme and how they seek to achieve BREEAM objectives. In themselves the measures also tell an important story given the Durham Miners Association's historic relationship with fossil fuels.
