Haven Green Baptist Church Haven Green Ealing W5 2UP

TPO/2015/0954:- Horse Chestnut (T1) - Fell because of multiple trunks overhanging road and next door driveway (obstructs adjacent traffic lights, church signage and passing tall vehicles) and now pressing against nearby boundary wall (no structural damage as yet - but the tree is still relatively young). NB. because of multiple trunks it is not possible to simply cut back offending limbs as it is likely to become diseased if managed this way. Sycamore (T2) - Fell because tree getting too large for the site, causing excessive shading and leaning trunk is hazardous to reversing vehicles (divided trunk leans out into car park bay and has damaged vehicles that have inadvertently backed into it). Box tree (A) - Lift crown to 4m height removing secondary growth only. We want to preserve this excellent specimen tree whilst improving the view towards our new church community entrance as well as protecting the tree from contact with high vehicles coming on site. Pyracantha tree (B) - Lift crown to 3m height to prevent contact with high vehicles. Reduce top and lateral branches that are overhanging the footpath and car park by 2m (also currently obscuring the church community entrance) to attractively reshape and preserve this specimen tree. Buddleia bushes (C & D) - Fell both trees which were self-set weeds and are now overhanging into parking bays and obscuring signage. In Addition to this project we have committed to plant three specimen trees (likely to be Silver Birch or other trees that do not exceed 5m mature height) in the vicinity of locations T1, T2 and C/D at such time when stumps have rotted and new trees are likely to have every chance of successful growth. NB After previous tree works in 2015 to remove undesirable sycamores, we planted 4 Silver Birch trees in 2016 as promised.
