Application for works to a protected tree - Chorley BC TPO 12 (Whittle-le-Woods) 1992: Oak T4 - Pruning of overhanging branches to provide 1.5 metres clearance from house, conservatory and garage

Main branches overhanging the roof cut back by 3 metres, branches close to the power cables cut back 3 metres, also a 20% crown reduction on oak tree 1 in the front garden, 4 metres from the house. Overgrown tree and branches overhanging the conservatory/ house need main branches over hanging the house cut back by 4 metres to the main trunk and 5 metre height reduction of ash tree 1 in rear garden, 3.2 metres from the conservatory. 5 metre height reduction and branch over hanging the garage cut back 4 metres on ash tree 2, 6.2 metres from conservatory.

1 x Sweet Chestnut - Reduce height by 15-20% not exceeding the most recent previous points of reduction, Reduce lateral spread to the east, south and west only by up to 15% to balance and provide clearance of the neighbours conservatory and garage (36 Woodbury Road). Standing in Woodland W6 of Tree Preservation Order

1 - Remove epicormic regrowth from trunk of one English Oak (Quercus robor) up to canopy break at 7m to clear garage. This work is historic. 2 - Prune back neighbours Hazel, Laurel, Sweet Chestnut and Douglas fir to the boundary fence and up to 8m and clear roof and conservatory by 3m. Lift low branches to 4m from ground level from one small Copper Beech and small multi stemmed Holm Oaks near clients hot tub. 3a - Fell to 100mm above ground level one Laurel leaning into garden at base of the mature Copper Beech (Fagus sylvatica 'Atropurpurea). 3b - Carefully remove as much root bole as possible, without causing damage to surrounding objects tree roots etc, by stump grinding to a depth of 150mm below ground level, no lateral roots will be removed unless specified. 4a - Fell to 100mm above ground level one Mountain Ash (Sorbus aucuparia) in front of children's play equipment to allow the area to be redeveloped. 4b - Remove as much root bole as possible, without causing damage to surrounding objects by stump grinding to a depth of 200mm below ground level, no lateral roots will be removed unless specified, all grindings to be left on site. Beech trees. Cut back branches overhanging pavement to previous pruning points to give approximately 2.5m clearance above the pavement. Cut back branches to previous pruning reduction points to give clearance of approximately 2m from conservatory and garage.

Yew tree - Crown lift to 2m clear of both the garage and conservatory structures and reduce the branch circumference by up to 2m. SUBJECT TO TPO 317 (12.12.1986)

Tree Preservation Order application: T1 Hornbeam tree on adjacent land towards garage approx 3m in height dismantle to ground level, very close proximity to garage. T2 Silver Birch tree on adjacent land approx 4m in height dismantle to ground level,leaning heavily towards house. G1 Group of Chestnut tree stems on adjacent land approx 5m in hight re coppice to ground level approx 30cm above ground level, blocking light to conservatory leaning towards conservatory. T3 Willow stems on adjacent land approx 5m in height dismantle to ground level, leaning towards conservatory. G2 Silver Birch and Hawthorn tree in garden dismantle to ground level.

G1 - Cedar and Douglas Fir : Fell 2 trees leaning over neighbours garage & patio area. T2 - OAK (corner of garden): Remove deadwood, broken branches & crown thin 10%. Crown lift to 6m. T3 - OAK (nearest house): Remove deadwood, broken branch & crown thin 10%. Crown lift to 6m. Reduce lowest limb over Conservatory by 5m to upright growth 5m from trunk. (Works subject to TPO 626/0046/1962)

Chestnut (T2)- Reduce canopy spread to fence boundary. Canopy spread is large and conkers dropping from the branches have caused damage to conservatory roof (photos attached). Also crack to garage floor which is believed to be from roots of trees. Sycamore (T1) - Reduce canopy spread to fence boundary. Overhanging drive.
