The Sycamore tree, shown as T1 on the attached site plan, was the subject of a previous application in 2013 to reduce the crown because of fears that the tree was in close proximity of the Old Mill, a grade 2 listed building and could damage the building fabric. The tree sits on the bank of a raised former mill dam and has a large number of exposed roots. A full arboriculturist and engineering report was provided to support this application. At the time, the view of the Heritage officer, Julia Foster, was to remove the tree if it presented any further risk to the building. We were reluctant to remove the tree and chose to follow the pollarding route. This was approved and works subsequently undertaken by Pat Kernan, tree surgeon. Recent history The tree, being located on the bank of the millstream, has grown considerably in size. The roots are exposed and the recent high winds showed the tree moving significantly in the wind. It is not beyond bounds that then tree could be ripped up at its roots and topple on the listed building or neighbours buildings at Paradise House. It now presents an even greater risk to the listed building, as shown below. On Monday the 29th of June 2021 at approximately 3 pm in the afternoon, major damage resulted from a large branch blown down from a protected sycamore tree on the western boundary of the property which struck the south-west corner of the building, damaging the roof, dislodging the top of a dormer window, tearing off the gutters and their brackets and knocking down a twin wall stove flue attached to the building. Damage has been done to the brickwork where the flue brackets were ripped off. This resulted in over ??8,000 worth of damage We now wish to either remove the tree or significantly reduce the height of the tree to say four metres.

Magnolia T5. DESCRIPTION OF WORKS: (a) removal of rear stem down to 1.5m above ground level. (b) reduction of crown by approximately 30% (from 9m down to 6.5m). REASONS FOR WORK: (1) The removal of the rear stem closest to the house will make space for easier and safer access to windows, roof, gutters, fascia, and soffits. (2) By removing branches overhanging the roof, we will allow more light to reach the roof, which will deter the regrowth of moss once it has been removed and treated. (3) By reducing the crown by 30% we will reduce the degree to which the view of the house is dominated by the tree and manage the spread of its influence on the house above and below ground.

T.P.O. no 2. 1973 & no 4. 1964 - T1) Cherry Plum tree located to the left front of the property towards the rear garden area, to reduce by 30% and to shape back all round. T2) To reduce the Pyracantha to the corner of the property, reducing to its previous cutting. T3) Dogwood to the left of pine, to cut down to near ground level. T4) Beech tree nearest to the neighbours property, lifting the low growth to 4m over the shrubbery. T5) Yew tree to reduce in the outer canopy all round and oval top edge as required. T6) Cotoneaster, to remove the larger stems leaving the younger growth reducing by 20% and tidy. T8) Yew tree to the rear end of the property, to re-shape back the outer growth all round and top. T9) Liquid Amber adjacent the house, reducing to previous and shaping back from the windows. T10) Bay tree to the rear of the garage, reduce to its previous and re-shape as required. T11) Holly tree to the side of the barn, to reduce back the growth producing a gap between the roof and the tree. T13) Ash saplings located to the field side of the barn, cutting back the sapling to approximately 5ft (previous).

Backyard of my property, 12A Carlton Place SK7 6AG, Neighbour address Lane End House, Buxton Road Stockport. My neighbour has a very large tree ref no 214E tree no T16 which overhangs my property. The branches are physically touching the conservatory glass and are almost touching the upstairs windows. The fruit from the tree also consistently drops onto the conservatory roof and I am afraid the glass will shatter in time. I am not sure if a TPO is in place on the tree. Can you advise on the process needed to have the tree trimmed so that it no longer poses a threat to my property? All trees are silver birch.

TPO 04/1996 (96/00004/TPO) T.1 Walnut - Lift crown to gutter height of house; reduce lower north eastern crown 0.5m/1m inside stone wall; southern crown facing dormer, trim back away from window and roof/guttering; cut back south eastern crown overhanging Birch; cut back low branches overhanging pedestrian gate.

Sycamore T1 (TPO (No. 5) 1987) and Sycamore T2 (TPO (No.5) 1987). They have grown very large and are overhanging the public pavement and road. They are also growing up to, and touching windows of the house, and branches growing over the roof. My tree surgeon suggested a 30% Crown reduction as part of an ongoing maintenance programme, in order to allow more light into the property
