Front Boundary between Prinstead and Oldfield House (From Building to Roadside) G1 - Mixed Species Reduce and reshape Norway Maple by up to 3 metres in crown width and height. Cut back lateral growth on Cypress and Eucalyptus (not protected by Tree Preservation Order) on Oldfield House side, back to boundary to reduce overhang to parking area. The subject tree, Norway Maple, requires pruning as specified, in order to maintain at a size appropriate to its location and to abate the nuisance to the occupiers at Oldfield House. The specified works will not reduce the amenity value of the tree.

The tree is a Copper Beech situated in the small communal garden at the front of the block of flat known as 18 Tower Road. The LPA already has clear details of location of the tree - TPO RE458. The tree is approximately 9m high and its branches are growing above the height of the block of flats which results in twigs and leaves falling onto the roof of the building which in turn causes problems with the roof and blocked gutters. The branches also provide rodents and squirrels with potential access to the roof and the building. The branches growing towards the building are now touching the building, blocking out light, and blocking gutters with leaves and twigs. The branches growing towards the public highway are now growing beyond the property boundary and over the public footpath. The tree is realistically only visible to a maximum of 5 - 7 households and as Tower Road is a quiet suburban road it viewed by very little highway traffic. Proposed works:- 1. Reduce the height of the tree by 2 m so that it is no higher than the beginning of the roof of the building; 2. Cut back the branches growing towards the building by 60 cms; and 3. Cut back the branches growing over the public highway so that they do not extend beyond the hedge bordering the property.

RE1347- Reduce Silver Birch growing next to the house by 1.5 meters all round. The tree is overhanging the conservatory and has been dropping branches on the building below. The tree has never been worked on and needs some routine maintenance to retain its amenity value and health. Reduce Silver Birch on main lawn by 3 meters to maintain the structural integrity of the branches. The tree has become very leggy and branches could start snapping out if left. Section fell large ash tree overhanging the junction of woodland way and sandy lane. The tree has ash die back on one whole side and has been dropping some sizable limbs onto the road over the last few months. Due to its location and the fact it has die back I fell its unsafe to retain the tree. BAN33 - Reduce Cherry Tree in rear garden on boundary by 1 meter back to old growth points as part of routine maintenance on the tree.

T1 - Turkey Oak - Reduce crown of Oak tree by 2.5m radially (25% crown reduction) lift secondary growth from lowest lateral limbs to lift canopy and remove dead wood. Reasons: The Turkey Oak is located along the boundary line of 9 alders road but is also very close to the property...It absorbs so much light and produces a lot of foliage. We are looking to allow more light to flow through the canopy as well as over and reduce leaf fall.

Sycamore T369 - Monolith at a height of 8m due to cavity at 13-14.5m (150x25cm) on SW side of trunk. Seam, crack and cavity NE between 13-15m (200x5cm). Reason: unacceptable risk to residential property. Replant: with 16/18cm girth Fagus sylvatica tree species in the same position/as close as practically possible Sycamore T9 - Pollard branches by pruning back 5.5m of existing branch length (to 1.5m inside/east of new boundary fence) & remove twisting branch SW at 4.5m back to origin/trunk Reason: Tree over-topped by neighbouring trees hence very poor crown conformation, lost apical dominance, squirrel damaged, multi wounds throughout crown, unacceptable long-term risk to residential property. T46 Sycamore - Fell to as close to ground level. Reason; ivy covered, very poor physiological condition/crown conformation and of short term potential. Replant: with 16/18cm girth Fagus sylvatica tree species in the same position/as close as practically possible 47 Sycamore - Fell to as close to ground level Reason; Poor physiological condition/crown conformation. T1 : Fell to ground level (as growing into crown of T2). T2 : Reduce by 2 meters. T3 : Lift by 2 meters and reduce by 2 meters. T4 : Neighbours tree. Reduce limbs back to boundary by 2-3 meters. All trees are Beech Trees.
