Certain boughs of the tree are very close to the roof of the house and its chimney, the neighbour's garden and the adjacent yew tree. Reason: The tree and its canopy is considerable and appears oversized compared to other trees in the area. Its canopy catches the wind and it is feared that with no other wind break and open orchard/fields, the large canopy puts the tree at increased risk from predominantly south west winds facing towards the rear of the house. sufficiently to reduce the risk of the tree being blown down on to the house or road in strong wind having regard to the fact that the tree retains its leaves throughout the windiest times of the year.
