Willow tree within grounds of Falcon Mews Part of G2: reduce canopy encroachment into 7 Marples Mews back to boundary fence. Reason: The Willow is nearly touching the house and is constantly dropping debris. The willow is starting to over power her garden and would like a little more natural light.

Proposal: T3 Sycamore 11m M Good Twin stem at c.5m, hosts small diameter deadwood in the canopy. The tree has been damaged in the storms. Reduce the whole tree to sound timber leaving no scars to 8m in height. T4 Sycamore 12m M Good Historic stem damage, overhangs garden, twin stemmed at c2m. Girdled roots, overhanging fence. Branches close to the fabric of the house, No. 1 Waxwing Way, old pruning wounds. Cut back lion tailed branches to boundary level Tip back overhang to boundary line, this will remove 10% of the side of the canopy encroaching the garden.

Further to your site visit we would like to amend the work specification in relation to the above application. T65 (tree to left looking at the house) - remove x3 branches hitting neighbour's conifer, remove epicormic shoots. reduce canopy over Chaple lane to 3m from base of tree. T66(tree to right looking at the house) - remove two limbs over driveway wall garden and small branch over driveway thereby lifting canopy over the garden and driveway , remove lowest branch over boundary wall with Chapel lane. Reduce canopy over lawn to 4m from base of tree. Reduce canopy over Chaple lane to 3m from base of tree. Reason: general management

Monterey Cypress T1: remove raised planter around Cypress tree and remove all roots of 3cm diameter and less. Remove roots under block paving that have a diameter of 3cm or less. Reason: displacement of block paving due to root and damage to raised planter around base of tree and as a consequence of planter being removed and soil level being returned to original level, see photo. T2 and T3 Silver Birch: reduce canopy encroachment over dwelling to create clearance of 3ft T6 Beech: reduce canopy encroachment over dwelling and adjacent property to create clearance of 3ft from house and encroachment over adjacent garden. T4 Birch: reduce the overhang to the public path, cutting back to the boundary wall. Reason: general tree management, encroachment over dwelling and highway.

Oak (T1) - Reduce canopy spread of the whole tree towards willow tree (7m from base of oak tree), Reduce canopy spread 1m from neighbour (number 20) boundary fence, see T1 Photo 1 and T1 Photo 2. Oak (T1) - remove dead branches Ash (T2) - Fell to stump as leaning towards house and Inonotus ispadus is appearing see T2 Photo Oak (T3) - Remove branch overhanging shed Oak (T3 - Remove dead branches Hawthorn (Group 1 x 5 trees and Group 2 x 5 trees) - fell

Poplar T1 - 18m tall, 18m spread. Retrenchment prune by up to 4m all over to suitable growth points to result in a tree 14m tall and 10m spread. Tree has thrown several large limbs in recent years. Heavy pruning is required to reduce weight on the remaining limbs to help prevent further limb loss. Beech T2 - Reduce over extended laterals all over by up to 3m (to suitable growth points) to bring them in line with the main canopy. Works to reduce the encroachment towards the house and balance the canopy thereafter. Overall size of the main canopy will be unaffected. Chestnut T3 - 16m tall 16m spread. Re pollard to previous points. Tree has previously been pollarded. With pollard re growth being notoriously weak and regrowth encroaching on the house and garage, the tree requires re pollarding to remove the risk or regrowth failing and to allow regeneration at the previous points resulting in a tree roughly 8m tall and 8m spread. Pine T4 - Fell. Tree has moderate lean and is weighted into the lean. Historic excavations could have damaged the root structure further contributing to the lean over time and the path below is lifting which could indicate root heave. Tree has little protection from winds with a moderate target zone. Conifers TG1 - Re top to previously topped height (approximately 8m). Hornbeam TG2 - Reduce 3x hornbeam in height by up to 3m to suitable growth points (from 20m to 17m tall) to manage their size given their location along the boundary. To fell a 4th smaller hornbeam that has a lean due to suppression by the 3 larger trees.
