We are proposing a general crown reduction to tree TPO723. Up to 30%. The reason is it is overgrown and blocking huge amounts of daylight/sunlight from our garden - and it is overhanging the main road. Crown Reduction to the Sycamore tree (TOO which will be 3m, from approximately 15m down to 12m) We are also proposing to cut back/reduce branches where they are overhanging our property boundary, adjacent to the electrical substation at the end of our garden. This is a willow tree. The amount of reduction is minimal, 2 or 3 main branches overhanging. We have had a tree surgeon give us advice that the above are practical and reasonable. Photo 1 and Plan 1 are supporting images.

T1: Tree type - Weeping willow (Salix babylonica) Approx Height - 10m Location - Rear garden Rear boundary right hand corner Service - Crown reduction Work required - heavily reduce back and left hand side of tree by removing 2-2.5m, reduce crown by removing approxiamately 2m to shape, remove major dead wood more than 50mm in diameter and greater than 0.5m in length Reason - to alleviate the tree's lean, preserve tree and reduce risk of uprooting and falling. It is an attractive tree which needs to be preserved and already requires supporting beams. T2: Broadleaf tree Approx height - 4ms Location - Public footpath adjacent to property which is managed by Three Rivers but within our boundaries as defined by Land Registry. Service - Fell to ground Reason - Leaning across footpath; risk of falling; risk of injury to users of footpath from lower branches, damaging neighbours fence.

The application relates to work needed to 3 trees under a general TPO. The follow plan identifies the trees T1, T2, T3 T1 Willow - Fell to level where there is no further rot to allow to grow back This is beautiful weeping willow which was made up of two main trunks. During September this year, one of these trunks fell and crushed our green house. A tree surgeon removed the fallen tree and during their assessment confirmed that this had been caused by rot in the main trunk of the tree. Their assessment is that there are 2 remaining risks 1) its likely the rot will exist in the remaining trunk and 2) significant imbalance increasing the risk of the fall. The advice was to unfortunately cut back the remaining trunk down to a level where the rot stops to try and let it regrow. T2 Plum Tree: Fell to ground level due to fungus, no recent growth clearing to give other trees and bushes space to grow T3 Spruce: Fell to ground level as increasingly leaning into neighbours, routes now above ground of lawn, and damaging walled boundary
