Application for works to a protected tree - Chorley BC TPO 12 (Whittle-le-Woods) 1992: Oak T4 - Pruning of overhanging branches to provide 1.5 metres clearance from house, conservatory and garage

Main branches overhanging the roof cut back by 3 metres, branches close to the power cables cut back 3 metres, also a 20% crown reduction on oak tree 1 in the front garden, 4 metres from the house. Overgrown tree and branches overhanging the conservatory/ house need main branches over hanging the house cut back by 4 metres to the main trunk and 5 metre height reduction of ash tree 1 in rear garden, 3.2 metres from the conservatory. 5 metre height reduction and branch over hanging the garage cut back 4 metres on ash tree 2, 6.2 metres from conservatory.

Tree Preservation Order application: T1 Hornbeam tree on adjacent land towards garage approx 3m in height dismantle to ground level, very close proximity to garage. T2 Silver Birch tree on adjacent land approx 4m in height dismantle to ground level,leaning heavily towards house. G1 Group of Chestnut tree stems on adjacent land approx 5m in hight re coppice to ground level approx 30cm above ground level, blocking light to conservatory leaning towards conservatory. T3 Willow stems on adjacent land approx 5m in height dismantle to ground level, leaning towards conservatory. G2 Silver Birch and Hawthorn tree in garden dismantle to ground level.

G1 - Cedar and Douglas Fir : Fell 2 trees leaning over neighbours garage & patio area. T2 - OAK (corner of garden): Remove deadwood, broken branches & crown thin 10%. Crown lift to 6m. T3 - OAK (nearest house): Remove deadwood, broken branch & crown thin 10%. Crown lift to 6m. Reduce lowest limb over Conservatory by 5m to upright growth 5m from trunk. SWEET CHESTNUT (T1506) - Remove lower branch. Selective lateral tip reduction over garage by 3/4m back to suitable growth points. SWEET CHESTNUT (T1507) - Selective lateral tip reduction over garage by 3m back to suitable growth points. Thin crown by 20%. SWEET CHESTNUT (T1510) - In decline. Fell to ground level under control. SWEET CHESTNUT (T1511) - Crown lift to a maximum height of 10m, Selective tip reduction over conservatory by 1.5m back to suitable growth points with finished cuts no more than 75mm in diameter & crown thin by 10%. SWEET CHESTNUT (T1515) - Crown lift to a maximum height of 10m, selective tip reduction over conservatory by 1.5m back to suitable growth points with finished cuts no more than 75mm in diameter & crown thin by 10%. SWEET CHESTNUT (T1516) - Crown lift to a maximum height of 10m, selective tip reduction over conservatory by 1.5m back to suitable growth points with finished cuts no more than 75mm in diameter. Crown clean. BEECH (T1517) - Crown lift to a maximum height of 8m, selective tip reduction over conservatory by 1.5m back to suitable growth points with finished cuts no more than 75mm in diameter & crown clean. SWEET CHESTNUT (T1436) - Crown lift to a maximum height of 10m, selective tip reduction over house by 1.5m back to suitable growth points with finished cuts no more than 75mm in diameter & crown thin by 10%. SWEET CHESTNUT (1439) - Lightning damage to one stem with severe decay - Remove at fork. BEECH (T1440) - Suffering from Ganoderma. Fell to ground level under control.

(T1) Scots pine - Remove major deadwood (Exempt) and reduce low scaffold limb on east (house side) by up to 3 meters to reduce end weight. The limb shows signs of a previous old wound on the main scaffold (see pic) with signs of possible internal defect. The limb also has poor branch unions and has previously been reduced. It extends towards the house and if it were to fail it would likely hit the garage or neighbouring property. Reduce single overextended limb on the north side over the garden (last pic). (T2) Scots pine - Crown lift by up to 5 meters by removal of secondary sub lateral branches and remove deadwood. To maintain the trees crown within proximity to surroundings and create more light to the border underneath. (T3) Lawson - Trim back as much as possible over the conservatory whilst still retaining foliage. To manage trees crown within proximity to surroundings.
