The proposed development comprises the installation and operation of a ground-mounted solar farm and energy storage system. The solar farm will broadly comprise a series of linear rows (also known as arrays) of photovoltaic (PV) solar modules, together with inverter platforms; control room; DNO station; storage containers; battery storage; security fencing & CCTV; temporary construction compound; and enhanced landscaping & ecological management. Erection of a 30m high lattice mast supporting two headframes. Installation of 12 no. antennas on both headframes. 16 no. Radio equipment cabinets. Creation of a dedicated compound secured by 1.8m high mesh link fencing and an access gate measuring 15m x 8m. Compound is to be levelled. Installation of 1 No. shared metre cabinet. New access track from Haywards Heath Road, 3m wide and extending along the farms site boundary. Other ancillary development thereto including RRUs, BOBs and MHAs.

Development of the site for port-related uses. Provision of hardstanding for storage of cargo (e.g. motor vehicles) in transit through Royal Portbury Dock with associated infrastructure, including security fencing, lighting, CCTV, surface water drainage, landscaping/planting, and vehicle access from Marsh Lane. The operational area will be set within existing hedgerows and field boundaries around the periphery of the site, which will be retained and enhanced as part of the proposals, including the Land East of Court House Farm Local Wildlife Site in the eastern most field.

To include containerised or modular battery array, transformers and inverter area, switchgear and control room building(s), connection of EBI plant to the Hornsea Three Onshore Converter Station (ONCS), required access and internal roads, drainage systems, perimeter and internal fences, and required external lighting and lightning pylons. Development is located within the Hornsea Three ONCS area as consented by the Hornsea Project Three Offshore Wind Farm Development Consent Order (DCO) in December 2020. The application is accompanied by an environmental statement.
