1. Ash Tree (Tree 1) on pathway (connecting Dragon Cottage to its main garden) between Little Cottage, Dragontail, Haddenham and the barn at Dragon Barn, Churchway, Haddenham. Fell to ground this tree which is growing close to the wall of Dragon Barn outhouse and is growing over the roof of Little Cottage. 2. Ash Tree (Tree 2) growing in the garden of Dragon Barn, Churchway, Haddenham. Removal of lowest overhanging limb (cutting back to source at boundary wall) which is growing over the courtyard of Dragon Cottage. The owner of Dragon Barn has given permission for this work to proceed. In the next section I have been unable to point out that the ownership of tree 2 is different to tree 1 but the work will be only on a branch overhanging our property. Penny Haydon the owner of the tree is also keen for the work to proceed. This description has been aided by the schedule of works provided by South Bucks Tree Surgeons who will undertake the work.

T1 - Remove Cherry plum, due to its location to the power lines. T2 - Overall crown reduction on Silver Birch by 3-4m, this will move the canopy away from the power lines. T3 - Overall crown reduction on Holm Oak by 1-2m, this will reduce the tree away from a neighbouring roof.

Beech tree on right hand side of car parking area, just beyond gateway (marked BT1 on sketch) Branches of trees now stretch across driveway and have reached thatched roof of Upton Thatch. There is also a BT cable running through the upper branches to Field Cottage, a neighboring property. Request for consent for 30% reduction of beech tree to prevent potential damage to property and to provide unrestricted route for BT cable to Field Cottage. Attachment 001 is a sketch to show position of tree. Attachment 002 is a photograph of the tree from Upton Road to show height and spread of beech tree. A reduction all around. The tree is currently approx. 10m high and this would be reduced by no more than 3m, making the final height no less than 7m. The reduction at the sides would be 1.5-2.0m.

1 x Conifer - Crown lift to 5m so branches are not resting on building roof. 1 x Hazel - Fell tree as it's in poor condition and leaning into neighbours garden 1 x Willow Tree - Pollard at 4/5m to encourage regrowth 2 x Silver Birch Trees - Reduce by 2m and crown lift, making both trees more suited to their immediate environment as both have now become rather large. This will also allow more light through benefitting smaller bushes/shrubs

The tree in question is a silver birch. The tree is now between 15 and 20m tall, located in the middle of the garden. It presents a danger to the house (which is less than 15m away). It also prevents our plans for solar panels on the south facing garage roof to the rear (subject to heritage permission as we are a grade II listed building), and it is far too large for the location it currently occupies. When planted, the tree was at the end of the garden (hence the boundary of the conservation area was set at the end of the original garden. Since then however the garden has been extended, and the tree has grown to a height out of proportion with its location in the garden. Our plan is to replace this tree with two much smaller ornamental cherry trees, which will be kept at the same height as the apple trees on the other side of the path (see photo 3) around 3-5 meters high. We will take down the tree, and use the majority of the canopy for mulch within our garden. Once the root is ground out the new trees will be planted. We have taken advice from Nick Hanks at Greensleeves Estate and Countryside management who has done work on the tree in the past, but taking height out of the tree will leave it misshapen, as its not a species that responds well to having the canopy reduced, and as we would like to fit solar panels over the next couple of years, this work would be a precursor to any solar work being successful. The work to remove the tree will be done by Greensleeves and the timing of the work also agreed with Greensleeves to avoid any sensitive times of year, particularly nesting season.

T4 Sycamore to allow future inspections of trunk and stem. T6 Holly branches are starting to encroach with the neighbouring building, which will likely lead to damage to roof tiles. T12 Ornamental Apple. The tree is in poor shape and condition, with limited life expectancy. T13 Ash, branches covering the street lamp restricting light to the footpath. T14 Elder Tree, low branches over the footway restricting access. T17 Lawson Cypress due to the major included union this will lead to failure of the stems and striking the nearby buildings and communal garden. T21 Holly. branches are now encroaching with the roof of building, leading to possible damage to roof tiles. T27 Sycamore has moderate bark inclusion at main union, leading to possible failure towards footway within the communal grounds. T28 Elder Low branches over the footway within the communal area. T35 Birch 30% Crown Dieback, poor health and condition limited life expectancy. T36 Birch 30% Crown Dieback, poor health and condition limited life expectancy. T37 Sycamore due to the moderate bark inclusions within the main union. Limited growth due to tree group pressure from South side. Poor shape and form. T39 N/A Birch dead tree T40 Apple, past pruning management within the crown, limited area for full spread of the crown within the location of the tree.
