Monterey Cypress tree in the front garden (see pictures), I would like to request permission to remove the tree. The reasons for this are as follows: 1. There is evidence of historical land heave within the left side of the building which has previously resulted in the need for rebuilding of the left front brick work of the house.(see attached picture) 2. There is a crack in the left side of the front room beside the fireplace which, in the opinion of Mr Hooper, the builder who is currently working there, is the result of persistent root ingress under the foundations at that side of the house. (see attached pictures) 3. There were numerous roots invading the building below floor level which have been revealed as we have started to replace wooden flooring with a solid floor. (see attached pictures) 4. The tree itself is not in good condition. There is a fissure in the wood which extends through the trunk of the tree from front to back and is threatening its structural integrity. (see attached pictures)

Silver Birch - fell because of excessive shading, encroaching on telephone wires and low amenity value. The tree is close to the house and root growth is now threatening the foundations and has caused structural damage to the boundary wall. Replacement of one standard Acer already planted and established 6 ft to the front but growth of this is now being restricted by the Silver Birch. Complaints also received from neighbour, Mr Malcolm Giles at 15 Woodrow Park about loss of daylight and restricted view due to size of tree. We were granted permission to reduce the size several years ago (5 years?), but it has already grown back. The size is such that it has become out of proportion to the rest of the garden.
