Ash, weeping (T1) - fell due to >50% dead as a result of die back. Sorbus (T2) - reduce to 3.5m above ground level in order to help make the tree more stable. Cherry (T3) - directional prune to 3m radial spread in order to help make the tree more stable. Robinia (T4) - directional prune to 3m radial spread in order to help make the tree more stable. Ash (T5) - remove the limb on the south side of the tree to favour trees T2 - T4 beyond. Yew (T6) - Raise the crown to 5m above the drive to allow better access for larger vehicles. Cherry (T7) - Directional prune to reduce the north-eastern side of the crown to 3.5m radius to improve it's symmetry. Catalpa (T8) - Raise the crown to 2.5m above ground level for better pedestrian access. Fig (T9) - Reduce the crown to 3m high and 1.5m spread for future espalier training against the wall. Hawthorn (T10) - Reduce the height of crown to 5m above ground to improve it's stability. Sycamore (T11) - Directional prune the south side of the crown to reduce the overhang above the fig (T9)

The property adjacent to No170 Church Lane have raised concerns regarding a tree (maple) that has been previously pollard to approx. 3m The concern is the weight and size of the trees regrowth is causing stress to old healing wounds caused by the previous pollard and the varied focus of the tree blocking substantial light to there property. The owner of no170 Church Lane has agreed for the tree to be re pollard to a more maintainable Hight of around 3m in Hight (back to previous points ) or where possible to keep the structure of the tree safe. And manageable for future maintenance. My focus is to remove the substantial weight from the tree back to the previous pollard points making the tree more stable and making safer for future work and maintenance and giving substantial growing space for x3 well established pines that are close to the tree which we hope long term will thrive with the additional space and light. Both clients agree the tree is in a unhealthy state and would like to prolong its life and we believe with a more lower maintainable crown this is achievable. Focusing on the wounds and holes in the tree my professional view and upon inspection of the damage caused from previous work i agree that a pollard is a much safer option and will keep the tree alive and more maintainable appose to a fell and remove. - HAR/CA31

G1 - Ash - Reduce boundary trees along side the stables by 3m.

T13 Beech - Tip reduce branches overhanging stables and work/utility area by 4m to previously reduced points up to a height of 12m. Remove hung up and broken boughs. To prevent further damage to property from breaking branches T16 Ash - Pollard south facing stem to 6m. `pollard north facing stem to 10m as longitudinal crack running down from main fork to the ground. Hollow trunk at base .Likely to fail. B3400 runs beside South side of crown. T18 Horse chestnut - reduce height of Horse chestnut by c 8m leaving tree with crown height of 24m. Remove broken and hang up branches due to lose of adjoining tree on Storm Eunice this leaning speciman is left with no protection from the prevailing winds. Extensive decay pockets through out trunk. This reduction will reduce likely of future failure by reducing the wind loading on its crown. Please note that several trees of this age have been lost over the course of recent years due to their age and storms. Therefore the proposed reductions are designed to maintain the 200+ year old trees on the estate whilst a programme of succession planting is undertaken over the coming years.

T1 . Field Maple. Pollard the tree to the previous pollard points at 4.5 meter height in order to retain tree in stable condition.

Felling of "Grafted" Apple/Pear Hybrid. This tree is growing against the wall of 12 The Green, Great Horwood on the driveway side. This building is grade II listed. Reason(s) for removal: This wall has experienced previous structural movement. The foundations for buildings of this type and age are limited. Removal will help to keep the wall in a stable condition. This wall is experiencing high levels of damp penetration. Root stock is known to hold significant levels of moisture and this is transferred to the base of the traditional solid wall construction leading to damp penetration. Phased crown reduction, leading to removal of Yew. This Yew tree is very close to the rear of the house. Quote from building surveyors report "There is a large tree very close to the rear of the property and this is within influencing distance of the building and is a potential risk to the structural integrity of the property. It would be appropriate to draw up a programme of reduction and phased removal." This work has been discussed and planned with a local Arborist who looks after the other trees at this address. They indicate that it is best carried out over 2/3 years.
