Mature Narrow-leaved Ash in rear of garden overhanging neighbouring properties to the rear and side of Driftwood House. Application to pollard current tree to a height of approximately 15 metres. Tree has not been maintained in previous years and is now excessively large causing excessive leaf litter to neighbouring properties and potential risk of damage to boundary fence.

Prune back all overhang on alley side of canopy back to boundary line and reduce height of remaining canopy by approximately 2m to contain and improve shape x 1 Hazel (1), reduce new growth by approximately 2m back to previous pruning points, selectively remove branches encroaching out towards house and prune back all overhang on alley side back to boundary x 1 Hazel (2), lightly prune to contain and improve shape x 1 Holly (3), reduce height by up to 2m and trim sides to contain and improve shape x row of Beech (4), reduce height by approximately 2.5m and trim all round to contain and improve shape x 1 Bay (5), selectively reduce /remove stems encroaching over garden and into bay x 1 Hazel (6), reduce height to leave final height at approximately 5m, trim all round to contain into more cylindrical shape and remove leggy growth to allow for bushier regeneration x 1 Holly (8) and remove dead stem growing over fence x 1 Amelanchier (8)

The tree lies within the garden of a house that lies perpendicular to my home. The tree is at their side of the fence edge to my garden. The branches are hanging over my back garden and are nearly touching the roof. The previous owners maintained the tree and removed over hanging branches. This was around 25 years ago. More recently as the problem has increased I have approached the owners who have refused to take any action. It has now become a serious cause for concern. It blocks all my natural light and prevents the natural enjoyment of the garden. I would like to take action to remove the offending branches and trim back to the boundary. I will pay for the work and will be using a qualified and experienced arborist. I believe its a sycamore tree. I have looked at the tpo map and there is no tree listed as being where the tree is on the tpo map, directly facing the back of my house No 6. HAR/CA15.

The trees do not have a TPO but sit within Weston Turville conservation area. The quoted work would be carried out by J Fox Tree Care (Qualified Tree Surgeon at West End, Weston Turville 07990 998539) The work would include reducing the lateral overhang by 1 to 1.5 metres so the trees are back to the boundary fence and therefore not so close to our house. The work would include reducing height / overhang of the Beech, Hornbeam and Purple Beech by approximately 3 metres or less. The trees are blocking light and have not been maintained. Work will be carried out from 10 Wheelwrights and the owner of Butchers Orchard is aware that the Tree Surgeon would need to access to the trees. All work would be fully insured and all waste removed. The work would be paid for by myself.
