Neither myself nor our neighbour can identify the species of tree as it is pretty much dead. We are both in agreement that the tree can be removed subject to the councils approval as it is damaging the fence and parts of the tree appear dead. They also have a lovely Laurel which we think will thrive once the tree is removed. There is only one tree to come down. I have spoken with Tom Hunnings from Penn Tree services and he advised that the best course of action would be to remove the branches and because of the health of the tree the whole tree to come down - it is pretty much on the border of the properties.

1. Tree 1 - dead and dying 2. Tree 2 - dead and dying 3. Tree 3 - dead and dying 4. Trees 4 - The cluster of self seeding very thin trees on the boundary which need removing in order for the fence to be replaced (or it will just cause damage to any new fence replaced). Trees 1,2 and 3 above are trees which are dead, dieing and/or dangerous. Trees 4 - The cluster of self seeding trees as shown in 4 above are very thin and on the boundary/hedge but require removing in order for a new fence to be replaced.

(T1) Large Poplar Lombardy/ Populus Nigra - Pollard down to approx 4 meters/ suitable height near fence level to make safe. It is situated in the right back corner of the rear garden. The tree has decay and has recently had one large limb torn off and fallen into neighbours garden. There is also some visible large deadwood. Work needs to be undertaken ASAP.
