The existing use is currently as an agricultural barn set adjacent a small group of converted barns (approved under full planning process to residential). There are no adjacent listed buildings, the site is not a conservation or special landscape area and it sits adjacent a quiet lane. The site is outside of any listed building curtilage. Prior Notification - Construction of a clay lined winter storage irrigation reservoir. A balanced cut and fill earth moving operation will dig the clay from the site and engineer it into an impermeable membrane to line the irrigation reservoir proposed. No materials will be brought to or taken from site. The very wide banks have allowed the reservoir to sit very low in the landscape and provide a landscaping benefit to hide the un landscaped banks of the existing reservoir to the south. Why necessary for agriculture: Langmead Farms have secured 330,000 m3 of winter water abstraction licence from the Environment Agency to allow an expansion of the vegetable and herb growing side of the business. This project represents phase 2 of the winter storage required, The Knolls 180,000 m3 reservoir immediately to the south represents Phase 1. Why designed for agriculture: The infrastructure has been installed to provide a high pressure water main around the farm to supply irrigators in every field. This was installed as part of Phase 1 when The Knolls reservoir, just to the south was constructed (Stage 2 application)
