To construct a cattle bridge over the River Waveney with track leading thereto. The bridge details are shown on Adam Power Associates Drawing 14/043DIRev0. The positioning of the bridge over the river is shown on plan 403827-20-001. The track leading to the bridge is edged red (and the bridge itself) on the Site Plan. In 2014 an identical bridge received planning permission from South Norfolk Council under reference 2014/1852/F and a Prior Notification Approval from Waveney District Council reference DC/14/0735/AGO. Applications were required to both of the authorities as the bridge spans the River Waveney, the dividing line between Norfolk and Suffolk. At the time of that application the Environment Agency determined the 1 in 1000 year flood level with climate change adjustment. The soffit of the bridge was raised a further 300mm as a precautionary measure. The same levels have been used in respect of the subject application. A Flood Risk Permit will be applied for. Construction cannot take place until that permit is approved. See Design & Access Statement.

Prior Notification - Construction of a clay lined winter storage irrigation reservoir. A balanced cut and fill earth moving operation will dig the clay from the site and engineer it into an impermeable membrane to line the irrigation reservoir proposed. No materials will be brought to or taken from site. The very wide banks have allowed the reservoir to sit very low in the landscape and provide a landscaping benefit to hide the un landscaped banks of the existing reservoir to the south. Why necessary for agriculture: Langmead Farms have secured 330,000 m3 of winter water abstraction licence from the Environment Agency to allow an expansion of the vegetable and herb growing side of the business. This project represents phase 2 of the winter storage required, The Knolls 180,000 m3 reservoir immediately to the south represents Phase 1. Why designed for agriculture: The infrastructure has been installed to provide a high pressure water main around the farm to supply irrigators in every field. This was installed as part of Phase 1 when The Knolls reservoir, just to the south was constructed (Stage 2 application)
