There is evidence of this on older branch stubs and it is not uncommon for this type of tree. It is proposed to remove them completely back to the trunk as they will not regrow. In addition, behind the cedar are mature Yew trees. Some of their branches are beginning to overhang and crowd out an ornamental feature fountain.
