[1] Request to fell Ash tree, which Arborist [Tim Wilson, of Roderick Wilson Tree Surgery] has confirmed is showing early signs of Die Back. Tree has started to lean more heavily and has, for first time this year, has been absent of leaves on South-facing side of the tree. The tree leans over recently erected woven Willow fence, three one year old Eucalyptus trees [planted earlier this year, to provide screening replacement for Ash when felled] and a holly hedge [planted 3 years ago]. Tim has confirmed that felling now will allow us to negate collateral damage and I do not wish to resort to felling by cherry picker in a year's time, when Tim might refuse to fell using traditional [and cheaper methods]. Worth mentioning that Eucalyptus trees have already been planted, to provide more than adequate replacement for Ash in a year or two's time. Additionally, I also 'own' two more mature Ash trees, including 1 within the boundary of garden to the house - Tim has suggested felling of dieing tree now will help keep die back away from two healthier trees for longer. [2] Request to reduce weight in Sycamore, which towers over the entrance to the 5 Crafton Farm barns and which, should it fall at current volume, would do material damage to my property at #14 and, in all likelihood, the Grade 2 listed Crafton Farm. Our plan is to reduce canopy by 20%, by 1 to 2m off lateral growth and 2 to 3m off height.

The tree is a Variegated Maple To reduce the size of the tree by 30% and to resolve it's encroachment on telephone lines and overhanging neighbours property. Hedgerow removal - The hedge forms a boundary adjacent to the minor lane to either side of an existing farm and house access to the north east side of the minor lane. The access has limited visibility in both directions resulting from the location of the hedge close to the roadway edge (with a narrow verge). It is therefore notified that the hedge is proposed to be removed for the distance of 110m to the north west and 62m to the south east to improve the vision for users of this access. As a part of the proposal and integral with it, is a commitment to replace the removed hedge in its entirety with an additional length of approx. 20m (curving into the site access) with a new hedge but set back from the edge of the vision splay by approx. 1.5m to allow for the canopy to grow towards the roadway without impeding the vision.
