A limb of a multi-stemmed Lime tree failed and fell on the garage roof of a residential house. I have cleared the fallen stem but would like consent to coppice the remainder of the tree to ground level as I am concerned from a safety perspective due to decay in the base.

Details of Tree protection plan in pursuant to condition 14 of planning application Ref: 202791FUL dated 10.09.2020 for "Conversion of existing single family dwellinghouse into seven self-contained residential units; Excavation to provide a basement level with front and rear lightwells; conversion of a garage into a habitable room including associated external alteration involving the insertion of a window in lieu of the garage door opening; part single storey, part two storey rear extension; rear roof extension; side roof extension"
Old Forge Cottage Darsham Road Westleton Saxmundham Suffolk IP17 3AL
Extension 1. The application is for a renewal of an identical application that was approved in 2016. 2. The site currently accommodates a small house and two sheds. It is bounded by residential property on two sides, a paddock to the rear and is on the residential fringe of Westleton. The prevailing scale in the neighbourhood is varied with traditional one and two storey dwellings with one much larger property next door. 3. The existing house is to be extended to provide a single storey garage and an additional bedroom and ground floor bathroom to make the accommodation more modern and flexible. 4. The proposed dwelling will have no openings onto neighbouring properties and is screened by hedges and fences with the principal trees and boundary hedging and fencing being retained. 5. Highway access, bin and oil storage will be unchanged. 6. The exception is to increase the height of the existing perimeter willow fence to up to 3 meters (to graduate up after a minimum of 4 meters from the roadway) along the boundary between the cottage and the new building next door to improve privacy for both buildings following the new build increasing the land elevation in their back garden and increased scale of overlooking windows. 7. External materials are limited to brick and tiling compatible with local styles. 8. No biodiversity issues are presented by the proposals. 9. The site has been checked for contamination in 2017 and 2019 with no issues being found. 10. The site is not within a Conservation Area and the building is not listed.
