Fell 1 x Sycamore at rear of Acorn House

Along the boundary with 18 Vinebank, Southampton - reduce the branches of the trees back to the boundary up to the height of the top of the roof of the house

Details required for conditions 7 (Tree Protection Plan), 8 (Landscaping Scheme), 10 (Nature Conservation), 17 (Drainage Design) of planning permission 22/01482/FUL (Proposed erection of single family dwellinghouse (following demolition of existing house) with outdoor swimming pool and outbuilding)

T1 poplar - request permission to reduce the lower limb to a suitable growth point, away from the clients home by 3m, it is touching the roof and will most likely cause issues further down the line. T2 poplar - there are a few limbs which are smaller possibly self seeders, going over the garage and almost touching. Requesting permission to take these out. The last limb had been cut before and we would like permission to pollard this to take it away from the garage roof.

There are 7 trees affected by this application, all are Silver Birch, and the location is shown on the attached sketch, X1 to X7. They were included in TPO 29 1996 and were part of a group designated G3 in Planning Application 20/01790/APP in 2020 for what eventually became Tower View Cottage. These trees are approximately 65 years old (as advised by local residents who knew of the planting), but their growth has been suppressed for the majority of their life as they were shaded by other neighbouring trees in close proximity. At this age, even in good health, the remaining life is expected to be less than 10 years to failure or death, however they are all in the last stages of their decline and this time is likely to be considerably less than 10 years. They all have very thin crowns, and are sparsely leafed. Specifically there is considerable concern regarding the safety in the garden, and the proximity to the house and boundaries. Specifically :- X1 is dying, has significant dead wood in the crown and is leaning toward the eastern boundary. X2 is dying, has two major cavities at about 3m and is a potential danger to the house given the age and condition of the tree. X3, X4, X5 & X6 are all tall with very thin crowns, with minimal growth only at high level and are in decline. X7 has dead limbs at the crown and is dangerously close to the neighbouring house, Midcourts. This request is that due to the condition and age of the trees that they be felled and the stumps ground out. It is disappointing to have to request the felling of these trees, but given the circumstances it is considered essential. Therefore we would propose to plant 4-5 new trees around the garden, the species to be discussed with the Buckinghamshire Authority

Details pursuant to ref: 17/00617/FUL for water consumption (6) Building Regulations (7) refuse storage (9) cycle parking (10) in repect of two storey side and rear extension including roof extension (crown roof) and two front and three rear dormers, and relocation of front bay windows to existing House in Multiple Occupation to increase the accommodation from nine rooms with shared facilities plus one self-contained one bedroom flat to twenty one rooms over three floors with shared facilities (comprising two shared kitchens at ground floor, two shared kitchens at first floor and one shared kitchen at roof level).

Works to Trees: T1 Beech tree (north side of the stem) to sectional dismantle to ground level and T2 Beech tree (close to house) to sectional dismantle to ground level,

This application is for the reduction of 2 trees, one Oak and one Ash tree. The trees are situated in the rear garden of The Vicarage, Woodland way but overhang the garden of Warren House causing significant shading to the property and garden and damaging the grass making it very difficult to use the back garden and enjoy the grass area. Our client likes the trees and would like to reduce the Oak tree T1 by 1.5m to create a well shaped and balanced crown and thin the canopy by 15% to allow more dappled light into the garden and property. The Ash tree T2 is causing the same problem as the Oak tree T1 and we would like to reduce by 1.5-2m all round back to healthy growth points to allow more light and less debris dropping into Warren House garden. All work will be compliant with BS3998 standards.
