TPO Application: To cut back one yew tree (T2) back to the boundary reducing the tree by 4ft, also to reduce the height by 20ft due to cutting light and heat from our house.

Along the boundary with 18 Vinebank, Southampton - reduce the branches of the trees back to the boundary up to the height of the top of the roof of the house

There are 7 trees affected by this application, all are Silver Birch, and the location is shown on the attached sketch, X1 to X7. They were included in TPO 29 1996 and were part of a group designated G3 in Planning Application 20/01790/APP in 2020 for what eventually became Tower View Cottage. These trees are approximately 65 years old (as advised by local residents who knew of the planting), but their growth has been suppressed for the majority of their life as they were shaded by other neighbouring trees in close proximity. At this age, even in good health, the remaining life is expected to be less than 10 years to failure or death, however they are all in the last stages of their decline and this time is likely to be considerably less than 10 years. They all have very thin crowns, and are sparsely leafed. Specifically there is considerable concern regarding the safety in the garden, and the proximity to the house and boundaries. Specifically :- X1 is dying, has significant dead wood in the crown and is leaning toward the eastern boundary. X2 is dying, has two major cavities at about 3m and is a potential danger to the house given the age and condition of the tree. X3, X4, X5 & X6 are all tall with very thin crowns, with minimal growth only at high level and are in decline. X7 has dead limbs at the crown and is dangerously close to the neighbouring house, Midcourts. This request is that due to the condition and age of the trees that they be felled and the stumps ground out. It is disappointing to have to request the felling of these trees, but given the circumstances it is considered essential. Therefore we would propose to plant 4-5 new trees around the garden, the species to be discussed with the Buckinghamshire Authority

1. T1 & T2 2 x Oak trees (identified in blue ink on sketch plan) - Prune overhanging side of Oak trees away from property by 4 m. 2. 3 x Oak Trees (identified in pink) - Reduce the remaining Oak trees over hanging the driveway back to suitable, previous growth points to reduce overhanging crown by approximately 4.5M. Reasons for work: (As specified by the client) "Obviously, the canopy of the trees has grown considerably towards our property since the survey was carried out. The trees are now leaning significantly over the boundary in close proximity to the house blocking out light. We have had to refrain from parking our vehicles under the trees because of falling debris. When fully covered with foliage of tree 1 is approximately 1.5m from the property and tree 2 is approximately 1m from the property. The other trees highlighted on the attached plan are those which require reduction due to the overhanging crown." "We have notified our neighbours, Mr and Mrs Sean Farnan, of our desire to apply for work on the oak trees in question and they didnot raise any objections."

Wild Cherry tree growing along the boundary between number 26 and 28 Parsonage Road Heaton Moor. Both property owners wish to apply for planning approval for removal of this tree only. There are two reasons the homeowners are seeking planning permission. One is loss of light and the second affects house number 28 only. Roots are allegedly causing damage to the home owners lawn. Applicants tree references; Hornbeam T1 in garden of 7 Walsham Road, reduce lower limbs overhanging garden of no9. Selective thin to extended limbs on one side to allow passage of light, limbs reducing to growth points, current length approximately 6m reducing to 4m (this will not be a cut back to boundary, selective thin and reduce to limbs facing property rear only). T1 Hornbeam requires a small amount of reduction to one side to allow passage of light for house no 9, this work will not unbalance the tree, nor will it alter the current crown shape. Hornbeams T2 and T3 in garden of 11 Walsham Road, cut back to boundary and clear head height to rear garden gate access (T2 and T3 are acting as hedging and will not be unbalanced due to a cut back to boundary). crown shape. Pine (T1): Cut back branches to boundary with Curzon House.

T1 Horse Chestnut, Action - Reduce tree structure to a smaller dimension. 2-3m lateral reduction, 5-6m height reduction. Thin out centre. Produce new tree form. Reason - Turn tree into a much smaller manageable form, for long term retention with a re-pollarding regime carried out every 3 years. This will bring a feature tree into line with the historic pollard trees along the driveway, that the property already embraces. This will ensure residents of High Beeches, existing and future, will continue to enjoy a tree within its boundary that fits into a more living at home lifestyle.

Notice of intent to carry out works to tree protected by Tree Preservation Order 17/11- Oak tree Situated in the rear garden 8m from the house next to the boundary on the left hand side of the property. There are no other oak trees on the property.The tree has recently had dead & diseased wood professionally removed. The maintenance proposal is for a lateral crown reduction of 2m all round to reduce weight and strain on the main limbs.

T1. Fell an Oak tree approximately 12 metres in height. Situated close to the front left hand corner of the house. T2. Crown thin by 25% a multi stemmed contorted Willow tree approximately 15 metres in height situated on the left hand side boundary towards the bottom of the rear garden. Remove dead wood and re shape were necessary to provide a more balanced specimen.
