Remove a dead hawthorn tree that partially collapsed into nearby trees and is overhanging the rear garden of 5 Briar Mead. In addition clear over hanging branches up to 2.5 metres from ground level that are overhanging the fence line to allow the installation of a new boundary fence and to protect the roof of the garden shed that sits underneath the trees as the felt is being ripped and damaged.

Works to trees in a Conservation Area: T1 - Self-sown triple stemmed Ash tree, approx 9m in height, very close to right hand boundary and growing through a prunus which we would like to preserve for its fruit. Works - Remove by felling at ground level T2 - Self-sown Ash tree similar in height, again very close to the boundary fence and the garden shed at the bottom of the garden. Roots pushing up paving, and potentially the foundation of the shed. Works - Remove and the stump either removed or poisoned.

T1 - Raise trees over road & driveway - T2 - Remove branch over shed roof - T3 - Remove overhanging branch over boundary fence

T1 Oak - Reduce lateral spread towards both buildings by up to 3 meters and the height by up to 2 meters to reshape and rebalance the overall crown. Removal of major deadwood throughout. T2 Beech - Removal of small lowest lateral growing over the driveway to the main stem. Tip prune other low laterals as necessary over the driveway to clear the BT line by 2 m T3 Conifer - Removal of the dead section in the upper crown. T4 Scots Pine - A self-set, asymmetric tree growing in close proximity to the boundary fence and shed. Fell to ground level.

Area 1) rear field behind woodland. all tree's along fence line to be crown lifted to to 4.5m to re-instate Grazing for livestock and all boundary hedges to be trimmed back to boundary. Area 2) LHS Field alongside drive. All tree's to be crown lifted to 4.5m and cut back on lower boundary wall. T1) Beech lower hanging larger lym to be cut back to boundary overhanging shed roof. T1 - Yew - Reduce tree by 3.5 - 4 metres, and reduce retained lateral limbs to balance canopy (1.5-2.5 metres) to maintain at a reasonable size for location T2 - Cypress - Large twin stem conifer by corner of shed - remove thin upright stem between two main stems (leave the stem close to shed for now) and crown raise the canopy by 2 metres to allow more light underneath T3 - Cypress - Multi stem conifer, crown raise to match twin stem conifer in front (1-1.5 metres) T4 - Cypress - To left of shed, reduce canopy height by a third (1.5-2.5 metres), to allow more light to surrounding trees and garden T5 - Prunus - Rear boundary - dismantle and remove twin stem prunus leaning on fence over neighbours, poor form and causing damage to fence T6 - Yew - Remove two or three low select branches, and check and remove if necessary any small branches that are significantly fouling phone line, to clear services and left canopy away from cars

T4. Sycamore (on right hand side of garden, on boundary, picket fence has been erected with a gap to accommodate buttress roots) Much of crown overhanging adjacent property. Crown lift to clear sheds giving 4m ground clearance, remove major dead wood and inspect union at 3m. T9. Ash (close to rear left hand corner of garden, 5.5m from rear boundary wall. Large primary limb growing to South, overhanging roof of adjacent house. Crown reduce from 3-6m and remove dead wood

Extension 1. The application is for a renewal of an identical application that was approved in 2016. 2. The site currently accommodates a small house and two sheds. It is bounded by residential property on two sides, a paddock to the rear and is on the residential fringe of Westleton. The prevailing scale in the neighbourhood is varied with traditional one and two storey dwellings with one much larger property next door. 3. The existing house is to be extended to provide a single storey garage and an additional bedroom and ground floor bathroom to make the accommodation more modern and flexible. 4. The proposed dwelling will have no openings onto neighbouring properties and is screened by hedges and fences with the principal trees and boundary hedging and fencing being retained. 5. Highway access, bin and oil storage will be unchanged. 6. The exception is to increase the height of the existing perimeter willow fence to up to 3 meters (to graduate up after a minimum of 4 meters from the roadway) along the boundary between the cottage and the new building next door to improve privacy for both buildings following the new build increasing the land elevation in their back garden and increased scale of overlooking windows. 7. External materials are limited to brick and tiling compatible with local styles. 8. No biodiversity issues are presented by the proposals. 9. The site has been checked for contamination in 2017 and 2019 with no issues being found. 10. The site is not within a Conservation Area and the building is not listed.
