The Old Mill 2 Hale Road Wendover Buckinghamshire HP22 6NE

The Sycamore tree, shown as T1 on the attached site plan, was the subject of a previous application in 2013 to reduce the crown because of fears that the tree was in close proximity of the Old Mill, a grade 2 listed building and could damage the building fabric. The tree sits on the bank of a raised former mill dam and has a large number of exposed roots. A full arboriculturist and engineering report was provided to support this application. At the time, the view of the Heritage officer, Julia Foster, was to remove the tree if it presented any further risk to the building. We were reluctant to remove the tree and chose to follow the pollarding route. This was approved and works subsequently undertaken by Pat Kernan, tree surgeon. Recent history The tree, being located on the bank of the millstream, has grown considerably in size. The roots are exposed and the recent high winds showed the tree moving significantly in the wind. It is not beyond bounds that then tree could be ripped up at its roots and topple on the listed building or neighbours buildings at Paradise House. It now presents an even greater risk to the listed building, as shown below. On Monday the 29th of June 2021 at approximately 3 pm in the afternoon, major damage resulted from a large branch blown down from a protected sycamore tree on the western boundary of the property which struck the south-west corner of the building, damaging the roof, dislodging the top of a dormer window, tearing off the gutters and their brackets and knocking down a twin wall stove flue attached to the building. Damage has been done to the brickwork where the flue brackets were ripped off. This resulted in over ??8,000 worth of damage We now wish to either remove the tree or significantly reduce the height of the tree to say four metres.

78B Church Road Hanwell London W7 1LB

The side boundary (approx. 30m) of the property borders Network Rail land and there are a number of trees here severely overhanging the entire garden and causing damage to the property including the drain pipes, roof and windows (photos sent by resident will be attached). Network Rail would like permission to reduce the trees along the boundary fenceline so that they no longer overhang the property and cause damage. This work will be undertaken by qualified contractors under the supervision of Network Rail and we will not reduce the trees any more than necessary. TPO Ref: 749 W24

43 High Street Whittlesford Cambridge Cambridgeshire CB22 4LT

Tree, thought to be Cherry is in the back garden of 43 High Street, adjacent to fence with 2 Whiskins. The tree is easily identifiable from attached sketch. Reason for the application: 1. Branch hitting my roof when windy. 2. Blocking light to adjacent window. 3. Leaves blocking gutters and downpipe. 4. Roots pushing up patch creating trip hazard. Request permission to have branches and roots cut back to boundary.

2 St Pauls Walk Cambridge Cambridgeshire CB1 2EX

T1Quercus ilex (Holm Oak) - Create framework pollard at 4m 30cm. This height reduces the main stem to just below the area of bark removed, probably by a squirrel. T2 Prunus cerasifera (Cherry Plum) - Reduce crown to clear roof and building by approximately 80cm. T7, 9 & 11 Prunus subhirtella 'Autumnalis' (Autumn / Winter Cherry) - Crown reduce by approximately 1.5m to shorten extraneous growth and maintain natural shape. Work to be undertaken June 2021. T8, 10 & 12 Malus tschonoskii (pillar Crab Apple) - Reduce height of all three trees to approximately 6m and shorten lateral growth by approximately 50% to leave as a reduced framework. T14 Fagus sylvatica (Beech) - This tree is growing in the corner of the site, it is approximately 10cm from the boundary railings, it is also within 1.5m of the pathway wall and the crown is now beginning have an influence on the adjacent large church windows. I believe all the above will lead to this tree becoming a 'nuisance' and will ultimately cause some damage. For these reasons I can only recommend this is removed before it becomes much larger. The adjacent Purple Filbert (Hazel) will not become such a problem and can be maintained as a tree or regularly coppiced to allow light to the surrounding planting area. T13 Fraxinus excelcior (Ash) - This tree is on the boundary with Cambridge Place. Sadly it has the early stages of Ash Die-Back and will continue to decline over the next two or three years until it dies. There is no known treatment. Given the position of the tree pushing against the neighbouring wall and below and within the railings I recommend the stumps is left when it is removed. I recommend planting a suitable replacement tree closer to the corner created by the railings. This can be achieved by cutting back the Pyrancatha and removing the small Mahonia. Eventually the Pyracantha can spread around the stem of the new tree. For the replacement of T13, I recommend a Robinia pseudoacacia 'Tortuosa'
