(T2) Oak in northerly area of rear garden - reduce crown by up to 3m and clear epicormic off main stem. Remove epicormic growth up main stem as far as emergence of main canopy. Lightly reduce easterly canopy back only removing up to 2m where specific branches extend beyond main shape. Reduce most of remaining canopy by up to 3m back to growth points. Remove deadwood. TPO Ref- 69W. Ash Tree at 78 Swann Lane. Identified as T1 in the aerial photograph attached to this application. Scope of work proposed by Tree Surgeon is as follows: Large sized Ash tree located adjacent to the boundary fence at the rear of the property. The Ash tree is showing longstanding signs of significant Ash. Dieback disease with a large proportion of the canopy noted to have little to know leaf/ bud growth. An extensive low level. cavity has degraded over time causing damage to the base of the tree. This cavity is noted to extend to circa 20% of the stem base and will impact the trees stability. Allow to remove the tree to ground level. All brash and branch waste will be chipped and taken away from site for local recycling. TPO Ref- 69W. Copper Beech Tree at 78 Swann Lane. Identified as T2 in the aerial photograph attached to this application. Scope of work proposed by Tree Surgeon is as follows: Large sized Beech tree located at the rear of the property adjacent to the boundary fence. Beech tree is noted to be generally overgrown and is preventing light passage into the gardens of a number of the Swann Lane properties. Allow to undertake a crown reduction of circa 15 - 20% to the Beech tree. This will include a reduction in height by circa 2 - 3m. Allow to crown thin the tree to allow light passage through the canopy. The works will be undertaken to compliment the Beech trees natural shape, this will leave the tree in a neat and tidy spherical shape allowing further light passage through the canopy. All waste brash to be chipped and taken away for local recycling.

T1 Beech - 2 metre overall crown reduction up to a max cut size of 25mm. (TPO 11, 1978) I refer to the previous application 21/00457/TRE and decision dated 31/03/2021. This is a revised application as discussed with Robert Goode, Tree Officer (03/09/2021). The trunk is 17ft from garage and 23ft from the house. Excessive shading from the canopy which is overhanging the glass lantern of Orangery extension. Large tree roots were found in rain water 'down pipes' and drainage during the Orangery building works requiring the drains to be rerouted (see photos). Significant root upheaval affecting garden and distortion of concrete fence posts (rear of property). Garden upheaval - horizontal at 7 inches (see photos). Concrete fence post significantly off vertical (see photos). Excessive fall of beech nuts. Ivy will be removed from trunk as recommended by Robert Goode.

TPO 1996 no 19 INT ID 5694 Silver birch T2, a very large, lovely and healthy tree Tree is now interfering with fence, shed and nearly the side extension to 11 Winterton Drive plus excessive shading to 11 Winterton Drive later in the day. It is encroaching significantly on this property. Application is for a crown reduction of ideally 2 to 3 metres to resolve the above and the ensure the continued health and amenity value of the tree.

T1 Horse Chestnut - Prune to remove tertiary lateral branches that overhang the boundary fence and parking area. Prune back to viable branch unions or back to secondary branch retaining the branch collar and branch bark ridge working to BS:3998 T2 Horse Chestnut - Remove large secondary branch overhanging the boundary and parking area. Prune back to branch collar/branch bark ridge keeping intact branch collar working to BS:3998 T3 Horse Chestnut - Pruning of small tertiary branches that overhang the boundary fence and parking area. Prune back to viable branch unions or back to secondary branch retaining the branch collar and branch bark ridge working to BS:3998 T4 Horse Chestnut - Remove large secondary branch that overhangs the boundary fence and parking area. Prune back to branch collar/branch bark ridge keeping intact branch collar working to BS:3998 All pruning to manage the excessive overhang and help improve light and space while reducing tree debris falling on cars and driveways. Due to the nature of the nuisance that trees are causing I don't think branch extension reductions on the overhanging limbs would be beneficial as this will cause additional regrowth to branches that are already causing a nuisance. Therefore I have recommended whole branch removal to limit regrowth within the vicinity of the branch removed.
