Land At Rear Of Woodlands,Dell House And Banstead Down Old Chorleywood Road Rickmansworth Hertfordshire
To identify the tree of concern I have attached a Tree Survey File. On the drawing the tree is seen on the border of plot 2 and plot 3 labelled "Leylandii". Since the survey was completed the land has been sold for development and the resultant plots are slightly different resulting in the tree being on the very border of plot 2. I am the owner of plot 2. I will also include a few pictures of the tree. The tree is very large and over bearing. I would like to replace the tree with a number of smaller trees distributed around the plot. Design to be established by a landscape professional should approval be possible for the removal of the large tree,

The trees affected by these works are covered within TPO 99 0656. Having consulted with an arboricultural consultant the proposed measures to ensure that works can be reasonably progressed are as per, Ravencroft Arboricultural Services Arboricultural Method Statement - Project Number PP/NWHCS/AMS/01 - Drawing No 151123/01 Rev C. The proposed works include the following items of work, 1. Removal of concrete slab and foundations to substantially demolished building. 2. Demolition and removal of existing dilapidated gas meter housing 3. Subject to existence and nature of any tree roots encountered in connection with the above it is proposed that the areas affected by these works be reinstated to include 2 No disabled parking bays (construction details typically as per included within this Planning Application), and / or soft landscaping. 4. Supply and installation of new housing to existing gas meter etc. 5. Separate to the above it is proposed to install a timber and concrete post approximately 10m in length to provide a visual screen adjacent temporary structure. (It is anticipated that there will be some adjustment to existing levels - it is intended that any changes to existing ground levels be kept to a minimum albeit in the event that the works do incorporate 2 No new disabled parking bays then the finish levels will need to be reasonably practicable and not " steep / excessively steep")

T1: x1 Cherry tree, situated in the front garden. Suggested works - fell to ground level and replant a more suitable tree as part of the re-landscaping of the front garden to make it a more usable space. Reason - the variety of cherry planted did not conform to the original permission given. The tree has grown so vigorously that its roots are now bulging well above the soil line, raising stonework, creating many trip hazards and adding increasing building stress to the retaining wall of the front lightwell.

T2 Ash (TPO G7) - Remove trunk suckers up to 3m to clean stem. Lift canopy up to 6m overhanging new garage, cutting back to viable secondary growth points to maintain clearance. T5 Ash (TPO G7) - Reduce height by 2m, to leave 14m and reduce lateral limb overhanging neighbouring property south west by 5m, cutting back to viable, secondary growth points. Clean out to remove major deadwood (>50mm) and truncated branches. T9 (TPO G7) Ash - Remove branch at 11m extending north east over new dwelling, cutting back to main stem, to maintain clearance. T11 (TPO G7) Ash - Fell. Kretschmaria deusta present and associated decay to main stem significant. Suspected ash dieback. Historic limb failure, cavities and large sections of major deadwood. Due to proximity of adjacent tree population and proposed new landscaping associated with development site request to waive condition to replace ash tree (T11) proposed for removal.

TPO 135/1990 1) Fell dead Horse Chestnut tree in front garden TPO number unknown. The Landscape Officer has undertaken a site visit and agreed that the tree is dead and can be removed. A dead tree eating fungus on the trunk confirmed that it has unfortunately died. Replacement agreed with a small Mountain Ash to be planted at lease 2m from current dead tree. Due to size of tree the trunk will be felled to an approximate height of 1 metre. 2) Row of Sycamore trees on highway land beyond rear boundary- Raise canopy of trees to approx 10 metres above ground level, cut back to boundary/trunk. The lower branches are currently growing over the boundary, causing considerable overhang, shading and disruption to our garden.

Removal of Cypress Trees (Marked on sketch as T1 - Trees) Fell to ground Due to a ground level change with my neighbour (6 Eliot Close) where the trees are situated, my ground level is higher, and due to the previous owners poor landscaping, damage has been caused to the existing fence and decking area, which now need to be replaced and maintained. I propose to remove the existing trees which provide little in the way of amenity and its loss will not adversely impact on the character or amenity of the area. Once the repairs have been undertaken, I will seek advice for suitable replacement, quantity, species, position and size.
