Application for works to a protected tree - Chorley BC TPO 1 (Euxton) 1996: Oak - Removal of one branch growing to the west, back to the main stem, to facilitate replacement of fence panels

Rear Garden - Left Hand Side T1 - Laurel Fell as close to ground level as possible. Grind out stump to 200mm below ground level, removing excess grindings from site. The Laurel is located in the rear garden to the left hand side in conflict with the boundary fence The Laurel is damaging the boundary fence with a large amount of the crown within the neighbouring property of 31 Cotland Acres The tree is an undesirable species for its location. Removal to allow for repairs to the boundary fence Rear Garden - Middle and Back Boundary - Left Hand Side G2 - 2x Holly and T3 - 1x Holly Fell as close to ground level as possible. Grind out stump to 200mm below ground level, removing excess grindings from site. G2 is located in the central area of the garden and T3 is located near the rear boundary to the left hand side. One of the trees of G2 is heavily Ivy Clad which has limit the extent of growth of the Holly. The trees of G2 and T3 have outgrown their surroundings due to the size of the garden. The garden has become unusable due to the continuous leaf fall. Removal to allow suitable use of the garden and to allow more suitable light levels in to the property and neighbouring properties. Replanting of 3x Hollies at a starting height of around 2-3m along the rear boundary for the in keeping of the current and surrounding species and to retain wildlife

Holm Oak group Map ID# 16 Reduce 10 m trees by 2 m to achieve a finished height of 8m, reduce Crown spead by 1 m to achieve a Crown spread of 8m and reduce back to fence line by 1m Leyland Cypress group, Cupressus x Map ID# 24 Reduce 10m trees by 2 m to achieve a finished height of 8m, trim side growths by 0.5m back to previous points and reduce back to fence line by 1m Bay group Map ID# 25 Reduce 10m trees by 2 m to achieve a finished height of 8m, trim side growths by 0.5m back to previous points, reduce back to fence line by up 1m Holm Oak Map ID#37 Reduce 10m trees by 2 m to achieve a finished height of 8m, reduce Crown spread by 1 m to achieve a finished spread of 8m reducing back to previous point and reduce back to fence line by up to 1m.

G1 - Woodland Tree Line - Located on boundary, to rear/side of No. 64 Boundary Way. Consisting of 2x Mature Sycamore shown as T1 & T2, located close to the boundary line, with considerable overhang to property and garden area of no.64. Reduce overhanging laterals to reduce overextended limbs of Sycamore tree by 4.5M. Remove or carry our end-weight reduction to lower limbs in close proximity to house roof line, to provide suitable crown clearance from roofline of property block. To alleviate crown encroachment and light filter issues to property and garden, while reducing end weight to crown, reducing risk of limb failure to over extended limbs. Fell X1 Self-set Sycamore T3, located close to fence boundary. height approx 6/7m Fell and remove due to low value and poor siting growing under established trees. Further crown growth will likely cause continual conflict to adj property and boundary.

Ash tree identified as T1 and yellow star on attached sketch plan. The Ash tree has a notable cavity which extends downwards from a previously removed branch on the South side (See Pic 2). There is a cavity (See Pic 3) at approximately 1m above ground level. The depth of this extends to approximately 50% of the stem diameter. Significant heartwood decay is also visible. The vast majority of the crown of the tree is located within the top 25% of the stem which in such an exposed location creates a significant sail effect. The immediately adjacent Ash tree has also recently failed having similar decay. This has also left this individual tree more exposed to the wind. Due to the now increased risk of this tree also failing and causing damage to outbuildings and/or fences the client wishes to remove the tree.

Works to oak tree covered by LBE ORDER NO 66 1977:- crown thin by 20%, lift crown to 4m from ground level without removing any scaffold limbs and reduce low extraneous lateral growth towards the neighbouring gardens shed and fence line by up to 1.5m if required to balance the crown lift.

Remove a dead hawthorn tree that partially collapsed into nearby trees and is overhanging the rear garden of 5 Briar Mead. In addition clear over hanging branches up to 2.5 metres from ground level that are overhanging the fence line to allow the installation of a new boundary fence and to protect the roof of the garden shed that sits underneath the trees as the felt is being ripped and damaged.

1.1no Mature London Plane Tree located next to the service yard will have branches cut back to give a 2m clearance from the fence line up to 6m in height.

Cherry, Lime & Quercus Ilex Reduce back to give 1m clearance from court lighting and court fencing.

TPO/1968/0027 T5 Hornbeam - Reduce all aspects of crown back to previous points of reduction. T10 Hornbeam - Reduce all aspects of crown back to previous points of reduction. T11 Sycamore (dead) - Cut to fence height. T12 Pear - Cut back overhang over cuts by approx. 1.5-2m. T17 Lime group - Reduce branches overhanging road back in line with the lamppost. T18 Leyland Cypress - Fell in section to ground level; grind stump to approx. 300mm below ground level. G19 Hornbeams - Reduce all aspects of crown back to previous points of reduction; Remove x3 small low hanging branches from left-hand tree, as highlighted in photos attached.
