Proposed removal of 7 conifer trees labelled T1 to T7 on enclosed plan and photos. The tree roots have grown and caused the perimeter wall of the property?s garden to bulge out and for the stones to become unstable and dislodged. There is a danger that the wall will collapse further (see below) and may cause injury. After a period of heavy rain the wall next to T5 has collapsed, causing large stones to fall into the pavement and road and the street sign for Brighton Road to fall off. Work has begun to remove T5 due to the danger posed if there is any further collapse, so retrospective permission is sought for this tree. Safety tape has been erected which looks unsightly in the Conservation area but is necessary - the damage is on the corner of two roads where many walkers pass by in the dark, including patrons of the Wheatley Arms pub which is situated directly opposite. It is a trip hazard as well as a danger to road users. We wish to seek permission to remove all 7 trees, so that the wall can be repaired and made safe for passers by.

RETROSPECTIVE Application T1 Oak - Twin stem failed tree. One of the stems uprooted in very mild weather due to extensive root rot on the night of 25/06/23. This effectively removed all of the base anchoring the remaining standing stem on the windward side, leaving it entirely loaded and leaning at 45?> directly towards the house, well within the trees drop zone. There was no option to prop it due to the area beneath being tarmac and part of the car park / turning area. Nor was there a substantial tree to strap and secure it to. Remaining stem removed under the rule of exception for safety 27/06/23. Suspected underground water course in the same line running north to south which is the downward gradient from Ilkley Moors to the River. Exact same circumstance occurred February 2022 with a failed Oak tree, thoroughly rotted up through the base, which landed in the garage at the neighbouring property on Kings Road, under app 22/00910/CPN.

T1) RETROSPECTIVE application for removal of dead tree. You can see by the photos attached which were taken the 31st of May 2023, all surrounding deciduous trees are in full leaf.

Retrospective approval for severance of roots up to a diameter of 15mm for the installation of foundations for the building of a rear extension in accordance with 21/02647/CLP. No additional roots are to be severed or damaged beyond those already severed during the excavations as shown in the photographs. The lawn between the extension and T1 is to be protected during construction by the installation of 50mm bark chips under 18mm OSB3 board before any further construction works begin so as to avoid any additional damage within the RPA of the tree

RETROSPECTIVE application and work to remove falling Ivy covered tree fallen over the boundary into garden of 14 Ghyll Wood. The tree was entirely Ivy covered and top heavy, recent storms had simply pulled it over.

PART RETROSPECTIVE: T1 Dying Elm - Request to remove and not replace due to lack of suitable space. (Removal undertaken on the 27th of August 2021 so this will be retrospective when the officer receives it.) T2 Sycamore - Reduce by a third, removing approx 4m, leaving 8m overall height

Small Apple 6ft in height 95mm dbh removed from plot 6 (retrospective). Replacement Apple to be planted.
