Part-retrospective application for the remodelling of the existing dwellinghouse comprising the erection of single-storey rear extension and first floor front extension; alterations to fenestration; and roof alterations including raising of ridge height, creation of front gable ends and side-facing Sussex hips, installation of 1no front and 2no rear dormer windows, and 2no rear rooflights; with associated alterations, as approved under permission BH2021/04282, without adherence to conditions 1 or 5 of said application, to permit amendments to the design of the rear extension, front porch and fenestration, and confirm tree protection measures.

T1 - Pittosporum - Crown reduction by approx 2m in height and 1m in width

T1 Weeping Elm reduce radial spread by 1.5 to 2 metres whilst retaining natural form of the tree. Thin by 10% and remove any deadwood.

T1 Sycamore to reduce radial crown spread by up to 2 metres. Pruning branches back to significant growth points. Thin branch density by 10% Remove epicormic growth at base.

cherry tree over 30 years old in front garden, very close to pavement which is diseased and dying. We are concerned about its safety particularly in high winds/bad weather and would like permission to have it removed asap. There is another cherry tree, immediately next to the above cherry tree which has grown from scratch, from a cherry stone which fell off the original cherry tree and germinated and is now a full grown tree which is currently healthy.

T1: The silver birch tree is damaging the surrounding original paving and pathways, causing cracking and upheaval, and its roots are also a concern for the under-garden vaults below and are a likely cause of the ingress of water to these areas. There is the likelihood further damage to these vaults and pathways if left unaddressed. T2: The Elder is a young self-sown tree that is growing right against the boundary wall between 23 and 24 Lewes Crescent, causing damage to the wall and the pathway in the garden of 23 Lewes Crescent. As with T1, its roots are also likely to be causing problems with water ingress into the under garden vaults below. We are applying to remove both of these trees before we do any further work to the garden and vaults below. Please see attached a sketch plan.

Line of lime trees at rear of property to be reduced back down to pollard points and to reduce the height by 3m approx.
