BH2022/03168 | Treeworks on Preserved Trees (Felling)

59 Melrose Avenue Portslade Brighton & Hove BN41 2LT

North West Corner of school T1 - Sycamore (perishing, size 3) Fell as close to ground level as possible. T1 ??? approx. 10m tall, removal is advised as the crown is receding, and the tree longevity is in demise. Over conservatory of 59 Melrose Avenue T2 - Sycamore (Size 3) Type 3 composite prune T2 ??? approx. 9m tall, reduction works is advised upon the removal of T1 as the tree will be left exposed. The suggested works will reduce the risk of failure and help manage the trees long term future. The proposal is unlikely to have an adverse impact either on the health of the tree or the character and amenities of the local area. PLEASE NOTE: Removal of T1 is advised as the crown is receding, and the trees longevity is compromised. The reduction works to T2 is advised if T1 is removed as the tree will not be exposed and more vulnerable to wind throw.

5 Varndean Holt Brighton BN1 6QX

Fell Sycamore in rear - excessive shading; overhangs house; excessive fouling by birds and squirrels; excessive sap on conservatory roof and glass. I don't wish to replace, but, would like to keep part of the trunk. I think our garden is sinking as the tree takes all the moisture.
