T3 Alder, T4 Alder and T5 Alder (TPO/05/2023) Reduce height on all trees to allow trees to stand at 8 metres and remove branches growing towards the house to give a clearance of 4 metres. After we moved into this House, we found that the front eaves and the back roof keep on dripping. According to the inspection of the operator (from the Hill and Cambridge City Council co developer) on 16 March, it is because of the accumulation of leaves, flowers and fruits in the drains, since the three big trees too high even cover all the roof. Even after cleaned, it will happen again monthly. Please give us permission to have tree top trimming so that the three trees are just lower that the roof bottom (i.e. the horizontal rainwater collection pipes), in order to prevent roof drains from being blocked and to protect the roof structure.

T1 and T2 - Sycamores, Remove. To thin group of 5 trees, to reduce crown density to avoid crown reduction and subsequent re-growth, to increase light to house and garden, to reduce water uptake and still leave 3 large trees within landscape.

T1 Lime - monolith at 4m where stem bifurcates. Tree is very large for its location - Falling branches over pedestrian access to house, falling branches on cars on driveway, damaging guttering, severely limits light in bedroom.

The owner is concerned about the safety of remainder of the lime trees and hopes to prevent losing any more trees in this way.

Oak in front garden - crown reduce by up to 2.5m, this will clear the house and reduce weight over gardens, path and road. Also remove major dead wood and old ivy from crown; crown lift to remove low branch over hedge and lift to 3m over garden and 5.5m over road, clearing lamp columns and wires as necessary where applicable.

T1 - Beech tree, 3m crown reduction due to branches over hanging and touching the house also excessive shading to properties ( no. 4 and 4a )

Silver Birch (Betula pendula) Reduction of crown by approx 4 metres. No1 on the Sketch Plan. No2 on the site Plan and No.3 on the photo enclosed. Reason for the works - to prolong the life of the silver birch tree and to remove any dead wood in the process. To reduce the overall size of the tree due to its close proximity to our house and the public highway.

T1 Lime - Crown reduce by 2-3m and remove deadwood to reduce risk of limb failure and potential damage to below house and to allow more light into below house.

T1 Ash - fell due to excessive shading of property (see attached plan views), low amenity value, and concern of damage to property from falling branches/limbs (or tree itself) due to proximity to property and previous and recent fallen branches. T2 Elm - fell due to excessive shading of property (see attached plan views), low amenity value, and concern of damage to property from falling branches/limbs (or tree itself) due to proximity to property. Neither T1 nor T2 is the subject of an individual TPO, nor are they located in a conservation area. Following SCDC LPA Officer consultation (previously with Ros Richardson in April 2013, and last week with John Cornell), it is understood that neither T1 nor T2 is covered by the group TPO 0009 (2004) either. This application is submitted on a precautionary basis due to the adjacency of the group TPO 0009 (2004) next door at the property Ermine House, 55 Ermine Street South, Papworth Everard, CB23 3QA. T1 comprises a multi stem (x3) trunk, and T2 comprises a fork in the trunk at low level. In addition to the excessive shading of the property (see attached plan views), both T1 and T2 have suffered previous branch and limb failures, and due to their close proximity to the gable of the property, there is concern of damage to property from falling branches/limbs, or of the trees themselves. T1 and T2 are of low amenity value and surrounded and screened from public view on three sides (east, south and west) by other more mature Ash, Elm and Field Maple trees. On the fourth side (north) is the property gable. The neighbours and property owners (Penny and David Jackson) of the adjacent property next door at Ermine House, 55 Ermine Street South, Papworth Everard, CB23 3QA have been consulted and are in full agreement with the proposed works.

TPO 0018 (1980) A1: T1 Yew - Heavily reduce crown by 4M in height and sides to create smaller frame tree to regrow new growth forming smaller canopy. Tree has become very large for the rear garden and is creating a large sunblock to the back of the garden and house.
