T1: Ash (close to side boundary) - Reduce height by 6m and laterals on building side by approximately 3-4m back to boundary line and continue pruning across tree to leave as a framework pollard. T2: Ash (close to corner of house) - Remove drooping branch close to corner of house back to suitable branch union (approximately 4m).

(T1) Ash - remove large mid-crown lateral heading towards right hand boundary - reduce remaining top crown and mid crown to shape by a maximum of 1.5 meters. To reduce the risk of end loading and improve form. (T2) Beech - sympathetically reduce by 1 meter back to fence line, cutting to lives. (T3) Copper Beech - reduce dead top crown and shape sympathetically to encourage regeneration. (T4) Apple - reduce large lateral heading towards house by 3 meters, back to an upright live. - reduce lateral heading diagonally towards left hand boundary to match by a maximum of 2 meters. - reduce water shoots in top crown to balance and shape by a maximum of 2 meters.

T1 Oak Neighbouring tree - Reduce overhanging branches by 2.5 meters back to boundary as bird faeces causing a health risk neighbouring house derelict & in neglect. T2 Field Maple - Fell as one main stem dead tree in decline suspected honey fungus.

T1 Box in adjacent garden (Home Farm) - fell to ground level T2 Row of Beech in adjacent garden on rear boundary (Home Farm) reduce height by approximately 2.5 - 3m down to previous reduction points. Trim back on garden side T3 Sycamore on left boundary - reduce height by approximately 4 - 4.5m. Reduce spread on all sides by approximately 2 - 2.5m. Shape round T4 Sycamore in front - Reduce height by approximately 4 - 5m down to approximately 1.5m below previous pruning points. Reduce spread on all sides by approximately 3 - 3.5m to approximately 1 - 1.5m behind previous pruning points T5 Plum on front boundary - Reduce height by approximately 2 - 2.5m to below adjacent street lamp. Reduce spread on all sides by approximately 1.5m. Shape round T6 Cedar - Fell to ground level

This agricultural area used to be an old chicken farm. Apart from our house ( 7 Middle Street) and 13 Middle Street, it is surrounded by fields. We have just acquired it and would like to turn it into pastoral land for a couple of rescue donkeys. The seeds from Sycamore trees are extremely poisonous for equines and there are twenty sycamores within the boundary of this area. We would like to remove them so that we can keep the donkeys. There is also one Ash tree in the middle whose roots are growing through an asbestos clad building, and the tree would get damaged when the asbestos gets removed. There are trees around the boundary which we want to keep so that the view from beyond the fields will be unchanged.

The requested work involves the removal of Pine tree, T7 that is currently protected under TPO No: 0004 (2021). The tree is in very poor health (very little live wood in evidence), assessed to be in a state of declining health and unlikely to recover. The tree is a large specimen, 16m in height and located on the southern boundary of 237 Hills Road, Cambridge, directly adjacent to the Public Highway of Hills Avenue. The tree is also located close to the nearby residential property of Tirnalia House, please refer to Grid Ref: Easting / Northing (546432.28 / 256082.12). The probable cause of decline is Phytophthora disease, which is known to be a soil borne disease and therefore likely to have entered the tree via its roots causing damage to the root system. In a state of ill heath (rapid decline) and with a weakened root system, the tree is predisposed to tree failure / wind throw, especially in high gales. Being positioned close to the Public Highway and residential property, if the tree were to fail, the potential for significant damage to property or injury to persons are assessed as significant.

T2 Bay ~ Remove 1 stem closet to house; reduce remainder by 2.0 metres and trim all round to re-balance. T3 Holly ~ This tree is undermining boundary Lime mortar wall, therefore :~ fell to ground level. T4 Holly ~ Previously reduced with very sparse crown ~ pollard at 2.5 metres. T5 Holly in neighbouring property at 5 Lyndewode Road ~ Reduce canopy overhang to garden of 3 Lyndewode Road by 1.0 metre (Applicant is not the owner of this tree).

T1 & T2: Two Beech trees - 10% crown thin, 4m crown lift. Improve access and allow dappled light to fall onto the garden. T3: Robinia - reduce crown of tree by removing 3 meters in height and three meter from laterel branches. Aim to slow down grows as tree in dotage and in proximity of a wall. Wall is under stress due to the tree roots. T4: Yew tree - 3m crown lift with a 30% reduction. Aim to allow light to house and align tree to height of the eaves of the house. T5: Ash Tree - Remove limbs interfering with telephone wires. T6: Pear - dying. Remove to replant in similar location. Not on plan: Cut back hedge to boundary line which runs adjacent to Dock lane and besides footpath (Clayhithe Road) to ensure save passage of vehicles and people.

T1 - Conifer- remove completely - due to proximity of house, clay soil and risk of heave - no tree replacement in this location T2 - Apple - remove completely - replace with at least one apple tree T 3 - Ivy covered stump - remove completely, no replacement T 4 - Elder - remove completely - largely deadwood and causing damage to boundary fence, no replacement T 5 - Horse Chestnut - reduce crown by 2m from the top and shape the sides to match - the tree needs management and has power cables running through the branches T 6 - Norway Maple - remove minor and major deadwood A full re-planting plan for the garden is to be prepared, the intention is that this will include new tree planting, including a cherry blossom and silver birch in addition to the new apple tree

Tree no. 1 Alder Crown Lift - metres above ground level in car park - ornamental alder - proposed crown lifting, to remove one smaller branch that is growing out and across larger branches and to remove low hanging branches overhanging the car park next door. This is to prevent damage to the tree when, for example a Luton size van reverses up to the boundary wall. Also the removal of smaller dead and dying branches. Tree no. 2 Sycamore - Crown lift to 3.5 metres above ground level - this is self-seeded, we did not plant it and it's currently a "pyramid" shape. In addition proposed crown reduction to reduce the overall height from approximately 9 or 10 metres to achieve and maintain an approximate height of 6 or 7 metres to allow sunshine and daylight into our garden and neighbours' gardens. Also crown lifting of lower branch that is growing through our apple tree and lower branches that are over-hanging and shading our neighbour's garden, and to encourage an "umbrella" shape. Tree no. 3 - Walnut - Crown lift to a height of 2 metres above ground level - this is also self-seeded, we did not plant it. Proposed crown reduction to reduce the overall maximum height including new growth from approximately 6 or 7 metres to achieve, maintain and control at an approximate height of 4 or 5 metres to keep the tree (and roots?) away from our house and allow daylight into the house. Also crown lifting to allow sunshine and daylight to our plants under the tree.
