There is an additional potential threat to the structural integrity of 2 The Maltings with the edge of the trunk being only 2.42m away from the kitchen wall of the property - the honey locust tree canopy has increased this year and grown over the roof of 2 The Maltings - root growth from the tree is likely to further extend towards the property risking further damage. This application seeks permission to fully remove this tree. The removal of the tree has been granted under a separate planning permission relating to 29 High Street, Chesterton, Cambridge CB4 1NQ (21/00537/FUL) - however it may be some time before this development is built out, and due to the tree causing damage to the neighbouring property this application seeks to remove it as soon as possible.
