The conversion of the existing commercial accommodation (Class E) at first to fifth floors into 20 x serviced apartments (Class C1), internal alterations associated with the change of use, the creation a new lobby space with waste and bicycle storage space at ground floor level, alterations to the existing ground floor entrance door, alterations at roof level including the provision of replacement plant and machinery and a single storey lounge area with associated terrace space, and other associated works.

Amalgamation of flats 16 and 17 to create a single residential unit.

The application proposes to refurbish the apartment as follows: a. Refurbish the bathroom with new sanitaryware and finishes and add a wc. b. Refurbish the WC space and convert it into a utility space with a washing machine. c. Remove the kitchen with new units and finishes and remove the enclosing walls and sliding pocket door arrangement. d. Refurbish and reconfigure the wardrobes in the bedrooms, replacing the orginal folding sliding doors. e. Remove door and door frames to two bedrooms and the bathroom and replace with sliding pocket doors. Reverse the door swing of what will be the utility room. f. Remove hallway door and glazed screen door frame.

The creation of an opening (1500mm wide x 2300mm high) through an internal wall between flats 16 & 17 and other internal works associated with the amalgamation of flats 16 and 17 to create a single residential unit.

External alterations to the roof of Bench Apartments on the south side of Middle Temple Hall, including new double glazed skylights within lead roof bays replacing single glazed rooflights, asphalt roof coverings and abutments with the main hall; replacement steel access hatch; liquid membrane roofing; and replacement lead hoppers and downpipes.
