22/1372/TCA | Tree in Conservation Area

Marycourt Convent Road Sidmouth EX10 8RE

T1, Monterrey Cypress : located in rear garden on right hand side boundary next to yellow conifer and eucalyptus. Dismantle to the existing surrounding hedge height, around 2m, due to the tree being unbalanced as the north side of the tree has been pruned back severely in the past and is blocking light to the garden, long term wise this is the wrong tree in the wrong place. T2, Eucalyptus: located in rear garden on right hand side boundary next to yellow conifer. Pollard at around 5 to 6m in height at suitable union pruning points, due to the fast pace at which this species grows, my client would like to have these works carried out now before the tree grows any more and blocks more light to the conservatory.

T1 - Silver Birch Crown lift via removal of the lowest 7 branches, maximum pruning cut diameter of 60mm Thin crown by up to 15% of the foliar area via removal of smaller diameter branches, maximum pruning cut diameter of up to 40mm. Reduce limbs touching the property to give up to a 2 metre clearance, maximum pruning cut diameter of up to 25mm The above specification of work is in order to improve natural light levels reaching the front of the property and to achieve a 2 metre clearance from the property. T2 - Beech Dismantle to ground level due to close proximity to the conservatory, excessive shading, low amenity value and poor form. The garden is well stocked with small trees and shrubs leaving very little sensible space to plant a replacement, on this occasion a replacement tree is not proposed.
