Removal of 2no. trees and leylandii hedge on boundary, replacing with matching stone wall and timber fence and construction of wooden bike store on concrete base in garden.

Full removal of 12 Leylandii on south west boundary of property (numbered 1 -12 on sketch plan). Full removal of Lawsons Cypress (T13) Full removal of a pine tree (number 14 on sketch plan) and replacement with fruit tree. Full removal of Eucalyptus tree (number 15 on sketch plan) and replacement with alternative tree (rowan or silver birch).

G1 - Hornbeam & Cypress A number of branches are overhanging the back garden of a property backing onto school grounds (Allerdown, Town Lane). Suggested works are to reduce these branches back to approximately 50-100cms within school boundary an reduce tops of southern aspect to shape. Maximum diameter cuts 25-50mm. Cypress to be trimmed and climber attached to Cypress severed. T2 - Elm Growth overhanging road to be reduce back by 2-3 metres, maximum diameter cuts 25mm. These works are proposed as part of the ongoing maintenance of the trees and to ensure the safety and comfort of the people living around the school boundary.

T1: Red Oak - prune branches to the West side. Cuts distal to previous cuts / points. 2m reduction clearance on the church side. T2: Cherry - crown reduce by 1-2m height and spread. Remove deadwood throughout. T3: Yew - reduce radial spread over the boundary by 1.5m length.

AMENDED SPECIFICATION Alder, Hazel, Field Maple trees: i) Prune back to a vertical line, level with the northern face of the boundary wall which forms the site's southern boundary. ii) Reduce trees height by 2m. iii) The Wild service tree and Fastigiate oak will not be pruned as part of these works and retained as individual tree crowns growing from the tree line. Western Red Cedar: i) Crown lift over the public footpath to provide a clearance of 2.4m above ground level.

T1 Willow tree: Tree has split and fallen over boundary line. Cut back the crown over hanging the boudary. T2 Ash tree: Crown lift the ash tree by removing the marked brances in image 4 and 5. Cut back to boundary to alleviate the issue.

G1, G2 Elms, Field Maples and Sycamores : Prune and trim back in line with the existing stone boundary wall alongside Exeter Road and the public footpath; crown lift to 4 metres above the public footpath. Fell all dead & dying Elm. T1, Cupressus Macrocarpa Conifer : Fell. T2, Oak : Prune 2 branches of the north eastern aspect in the mid to upper crown by up to 2.5m making 2 x natural target pruning cuts of approximately 100 mm. Reasons for the works are vehicle, public and pedestrian safety and to maintain the health, safety and amenity value of all the trees.

T1, Beech tree : To prune back all the branches which are growing towards and touching the gable wall and roof of the last property of Ernsborough Gardens making natural target pruning cuts of up to 50 mm in diameter and removing 2m; branch lengths to give clearance to the property. T2, Beech tree : To prune back 1 x branch reducing the end weight and leverage of this branch and to improve aesthetics making 1 cut of 50 mm in diameter and removing 2m branch length. T3, Cherry tree : To prune back to give a half a metre clearance inside the boundary wall reducing the end weight and leverage of all branches making natural target pruning cuts of up 40 mm in diameter. T4, Holly tree : To prune back to give a half a metre clearance inside the boundary wall reducing the end weight and leverage of all branches making natural target pruning cuts of up 50 mm in diameter. D1, Dead Maple tree : To dismantle this tree to ground level. D2, Dead Yew tree : To dismantle this tree to ground level. Reason for works : To maintain public highway safety and to improve the aesthetics of the trees and to prevent future damage to neighbouring properties.

T1, Monterrey Cypress : located in rear garden on right hand side boundary next to yellow conifer and eucalyptus. Dismantle to the existing surrounding hedge height, around 2m, due to the tree being unbalanced as the north side of the tree has been pruned back severely in the past and is blocking light to the garden, long term wise this is the wrong tree in the wrong place. T2, Eucalyptus: located in rear garden on right hand side boundary next to yellow conifer. Pollard at around 5 to 6m in height at suitable union pruning points, due to the fast pace at which this species grows, my client would like to have these works carried out now before the tree grows any more and blocks more light to the conservatory.

A member from East Devon District Council viewed the beech tree from both gardens on the 29th April 2022, on request, following a safety complaint from neighbour, reported by tree owner to EDDC, and concluded that while the tree is probably safe the trees position is never going to improve and over time will create its own problems
