Prior Notification - Livestock winter quarters, rainwater harvesting equipment pad and small plant building to support water and electrical infrastructure. Livestock bulding: Agricultural building. BS 5502-Class 2. 30x12m proposed mono-pitch with a total height of 7.8m and eaves height of 5.2m. Pre-cast concrete panels at base of building to 1.8m high, with open Yorkshire boarding to eaves. Southern aspect of building open for 4/5 6m bays with eastern most bay enclosed with cladding as above. Building will be constructed to standards able to accept solar panel array on roof. Hardstanding: Included proposal for recycled aggregate hardstanding between unclassified road Butchers Lane and building to facilitate access in winter months, shown on plans alongside building, constructed of recycled concrete sub-base and recycled asphalt top, concrete apron to unclassified road to be included in access works. Rainwater harvesting equipment pad: Additional small concrete pad to west of building will house rainwater harvesting tanks, of black plastic construction 3.5mx3.5m cylinders shown on detail plan. A balanced cut and fill earth moving operation will dig the clay from the site and engineer it into an impermeable membrane to line the irrigation reservoir proposed. No materials will be brought to or taken from site. The very wide banks have allowed the reservoir to sit very low in the landscape and provide a landscaping benefit to hide the un landscaped banks of the existing reservoir to the south. Why necessary for agriculture: Langmead Farms have secured 330,000 m3 of winter water abstraction licence from the Environment Agency to allow an expansion of the vegetable and herb growing side of the business. This project represents phase 2 of the winter storage required, The Knolls 180,000 m3 reservoir immediately to the south represents Phase 1. Why designed for agriculture: The infrastructure has been installed to provide a high pressure water main around the farm to supply irrigators in every field. This was installed as part of Phase 1 when The Knolls reservoir, just to the south was constructed (Stage 2 application)
