We wish to reinstate a pre-existing car port. The previous structure was removed during renovation works in 2019. It was composed of scaffolding poles and corrugated plastic, and had been in place for at least twenty years. We propose reinstating the car port with materials to make it more visually appealing, and in keeping with the recently renovated property and its surroundings. The proposal is to create a cart lodge of reasonable size and scale. It would be constructed with an oak frame facing the road and a pitched roof covered in red tiles. The new open fronted car port will be in the style of a Suffolk barn, to compliment the character cottage at the front of the site and to provide practical amenity.

Installation of a ground source heat pump to serve Hill House and Dairy Cottage. This will involve the laying of approximately 3000 metres of collector array pipe in the field to the South of the house using a slot trenching method to minimise disturbance to the soil. Pipework will then run from a manifold chamber south of the house to a redundant outbuilding between the house and Dairy cottage that will be partially renovated to make it weatherproof for use as a plant room. Renovation of the plant room will involve partial re-roofing with the existing or reclaimed clay pantiles, repointing to masonry walls and repair/re-instatement of timber cladding and door to south elevation of the plant room. Pipework and electrical services will then be laid to connect to Hill House and Dairy Cottage. Once the trench areas have regrown there should be very minimal visual impact to the area.
