23/00779/DDD | Dead Dying Diseased Trees

Brook Cottage Church Lane Hungarton Leicestershire LE7 9JX

We plan to carry out the removal of four dead trees at the bottom of our garden. We have had an independent tree surgeon come and visit the property, and he has confirmed that all four trees have died. Large parts of two of the trees have recently fallen down, and we have a young child at home, so, whilst it is a difficult decision, we feel we now need to remove the dead trees for safety more than anything else. Tree 1 - dead Willow tree (photo labelled 'Willow 1' on the documents uploaded, and marked '1' on the property map uploaded). Tree 1 has been dead for several years and earlier this year, a significant proportion of the trunk (which has rotted) fell down, partly into the garden and partly into the Brook which lies just over our garden fence to the South. We had to ask a tree surgeon to come and remove the fallen section from the Brook, as this is a valuable water source for wildlife nearby. We plan to replant a new tree (species TBC) in the place of willow 1. Tree 2 - dead Willow tree (photo labelled 'Willow 2' on the documents uploaded, and marked '2' on the property map uploaded). Tree 2 has also been dead for many years, and recently a large proportion of the lower section of the tree (totally rotted) fell down into our garden, which is a safety risk. It also damaged a nearby, healthy tree, which we'd like to avoid. We plan to replant a new tree (species TBC) in the place of willow 2. Tree 3 - dead willow tree (photo labelled 'Willow 3' on the documents uploaded, and marked '3' on the property map uploaded). Three 3 has completely rotted and if you touch it, it crumbles away. This is the largest of the trees, and also sits right near the Brook, which causes concern both for the safety of anyone in our garden, but also for environmental impacts should it fall and block the Brook. We plan to replant a new tree (species TBC) in the place of willow 3. Tree 4 - dead Elm tree (photo labelled 'Elm' on the documents uploaded'). Sadly, our Elm tree has f...
