The track is required to gain machinery access to the woodland for the purposes of carrying out woodland management in accordance with the Forestry Commission approved woodland management plan. The woodland is a wet woodland and therefore a hard track is required in order to reduce damage to the sensitive woodland soils in the SSSI.
