T21 Beech Tree: Request: Reduce regrowth by up to 1.0m T22 Oak Tree: Request: Reduce regrowth by up to 1.0m and remove dead wood. Remove epicormic growth on the lower stems to height of approximately 6.0m T24 Oak Tree Request: Reduce regrowth by up to 1.0m and remove dead wood. Remove epicormic growth on the lower stem to height of approximately 6.0m T21, T22, T24 Justification The proposed pruning will achieve a restoration of direct sunlight to the rear garden to a useful extent, without diminishing the trees??? public amenity value to any significant degree or causing them any appreciable physiological harm. It will restore the height back to the level of that granted by the previous consent given in October 2018. T23 Oak Tree: Request: Reduce to the approximate height of the first significant branch (circa 10m). Remove epicormic growth on the lower stem to height of approximately 4.0m above ground level. This is to allow the upper levels of the epicormic growth shape to the top of the newly formed stump. T23 Justification The root morphology is what one would expect for a tree that is established on top of an embankment. It is noted that the Oak tree is in decline and there has been some movement in the recent extreme storms. The reduction in overall height to a stump to the approximate height of the first significant branch will continue to allow decay to provide a degree of dead wood habitat, but mostly for epicormic growth to provide low level screening between the houses, and maintain a degree of public amenity.

1 North Lodge High Street Newick East Sussex BN8 4LY

Yew trees (T1, T2 and T3): crown reductions of approximately 25%, taking up to three meters off of the overall height of the trees and thinning the canopy. The three trees are located in very close proximity to the house and a retaining brick wall which separates the garden from the busy A272 road. The trees canopy currently overhang the pavement running along the A272. The proposed works are for a number of reasons; Reducing the height and spread of the trees, reducing the risk of falling branches and debris on to the pavement and road. To limit the spread of roots that can potentially cause damage to the building and retaining wall To encourage healthy regenerative growth in the trees canopy by thinning and removing deadwood.
