Screening Opinion for the construction of two houseblocks (two storeys) for a total of 120 prisoners, a proposed record store, library, office and extension to the existing visitor car park (40 spaces) within boundary of HMP Standford Hill Category D Prison. The proposed development falls within Schedule 2 of the EIA Regulations 2017 (Schedule 2, 10 (b)) Urban Development Projects.

Remove two 33kV overhead electricity circuits and new underground cable route is to be installed along an agreed corridor within the development site, and out into Headcorn Road, before joining into existing underground cables along Station Approach. Two terminal towers are to be installed on the development site adjacent to the southern boundary. Eight existing poles on the development site, along with the two existing H-poles on Station Approach will be removed upon completion of the works.
