T1 - Thuja plicata (Western Red Cedar) - Fell. Updated reasons provided by applicant -The Thujas proximity to my house and neighbouring dwellings, and being a large semi mature evergreen specimen, it has the potential to be overbearing in a garden of this size.

T1 - Grey Poplar - Fell as not covered by original area TPO effective 1969/70 on account of its age. Tree continues to grow a couple of metres a year and its extensive root system has spread to very close to the house which will no doubt at some future date put the foundations of the house at risk from subsidence. T1 - Douglas Fir - Fell due to size, proximity to our neighbours house and excessive shading of their garden, movement in high winds. Reduction in canopy not suitable as this would expose weak branches to high winds and would adversely affect its appearance. Healthy fir tree (T2) growing immediately adjacent to the Douglas Fir which at 4m high provides an immediate and healthy replacement.

T1 - Oak - Reduce crown by 2m all over to previous pruning nodes as tree is encroaching onto adjacent buildings, reducing light into house and lifting tarmac on driveway. T2 - Field Maple - Fell as extremely close to and encroaching over garage. Outgrown its position and oak would benefit from its removal. T3 - Field Maple - Fell as extremely close to and encroaching over neighbouring buildings, and has outgrown its position.

T1 - Beech - No works to be carried out. T2 - Beech - Squirrel damage. Reduce upper canopy over drive way by removing branches a maximum of 3m in length. T3 - Beech - Reduce or remove branches to create a clearance of 3m to chimney. Reduce upper canopy over property by removing branches a maximum of 3m in length. T4 - Beech - Remove 1 limb to create a clearance of 3m to property. T5 - Beech - Reduce or remove branches to create a clearance of 3m to property. This work is being carried out to reduce encroachment of the property and to reduce the likelihood of failure of branches over the drive and house, and because of squirrel damage.

T1 - Beech - Tip back lower secondary and tertiary laterals to a height of 4m from ground level by a maximum of 1-1.5m. Also, prune away from the roofline (Cedars Nursing Home) to provide 1.5-2m of clearance. The initial crown lifting works were granted on 21st May 2018 (2/2018/0505/TPTREE) but the works were never carried out and so the permission has now lapsed. It has since become apparent to Cedars Nursing Home that the overhanging branches have grown close to their roofline.

T1 - Eucalyptus - Fell due to proximity to house, heavy lean, shallow rooted, and outgrown its position. T2 - Leyland Cypress - Fell as it has outgrown its position, creates a lot of shade to other plants and shrubs and overhangs driveway. NB: 3x Walnut are exempt as they are outside of the Conservation Area.

T1 - Maple - WITHDRAWN from proposal T2 - Cedar - Fell due to size and excessive shading to garden and house.

T1 - Beech - Reduce lowest limbs over the garden growing towards the house to previous points, (no more than 3.5m) and raise to 6m. This would be ongoing management to that area of the tree as it has been done previously and needs to be maintained. This will also reduce risk of branch failure due to weak source of growth caused by decay form previous works. Reduce over extended limbs by no more than 3m with cut diameter not exceeding 10cm to achieve a uniform crown. This is also to reduce the risk of limb failure due to being over extended.
