Remove existing car port, erect single storey integral garage to side, convert existing integral garages to guest bedroom and gym, alterations to existing roof of workshop/storage shed to raise roof height and include flat roof to rear to include various internal and external alterations to include new tree planting following the removal of existing trees (Amended Plans Received 19/06/2023 showing replacement trees adjacent to the north east side boundary).

T1 Cypress tree closest to rear boundary, Fell. tree is causing excessive shading to both neighbouring properties causing an ongoing dispute. Tree has been previously 'topped' and has also been previously approved for removal although, clearly, this work wasn't carried out. T2 Cypress tree, Fell part of group causing excessive shading T3 Cypress tree, Fell closest to garage, tree causing excessive shading to neighbouring property and has a number of broken limbs, as shown in pictures, from wind damage. T4 Alder tree, Reduce height from around 10 meters to 8 meters and the trees width from 7 meters to between 3.5 and 4 meters supressed by Cypress (T3) once trees are removed the alder will appear misshapen and one sided. To alleviate stress on the tree and susceptibility to possible wind damage due to its new exposure we wish to reduce the crown of the alder. to promote a flowing line and will be cut back to suitable secondary growth.

Erect single storey conservatory and car port to sides, raise height of garage roof, replace fencing to front boundary, install driveway gates and pedestrian access gate and remove existing tree at front of property

The location of the Oak tree is shown in Appendix 1 and is approximately 2m north of the applicants property boundary. There is significant southerly lateral spread of the crown which is affecting the amenity of both the garden and adjacent structures. Of particular concern is the area of the crown above the garage/ garden room; the latter is frequently occupied during the year. The proposed works are to reduce the lateral spread over the garden from the neighbours oak tree by 3m and 4m towards the garage/garden room to leave 3.5m at base.

Chestnut (T2)- Reduce canopy spread to fence boundary. Canopy spread is large and conkers dropping from the branches have caused damage to conservatory roof (photos attached). Also crack to garage floor which is believed to be from roots of trees. Sycamore (T1) - Reduce canopy spread to fence boundary. Overhanging drive.

Poplar T1 - 18m tall, 18m spread. Retrenchment prune by up to 4m all over to suitable growth points to result in a tree 14m tall and 10m spread. Tree has thrown several large limbs in recent years. Heavy pruning is required to reduce weight on the remaining limbs to help prevent further limb loss. Beech T2 - Reduce over extended laterals all over by up to 3m (to suitable growth points) to bring them in line with the main canopy. Works to reduce the encroachment towards the house and balance the canopy thereafter. Overall size of the main canopy will be unaffected. Chestnut T3 - 16m tall 16m spread. Re pollard to previous points. Tree has previously been pollarded. With pollard re growth being notoriously weak and regrowth encroaching on the house and garage, the tree requires re pollarding to remove the risk or regrowth failing and to allow regeneration at the previous points resulting in a tree roughly 8m tall and 8m spread. Pine T4 - Fell. Tree has moderate lean and is weighted into the lean. Historic excavations could have damaged the root structure further contributing to the lean over time and the path below is lifting which could indicate root heave. Tree has little protection from winds with a moderate target zone. Conifers TG1 - Re top to previously topped height (approximately 8m). Hornbeam TG2 - Reduce 3x hornbeam in height by up to 3m to suitable growth points (from 20m to 17m tall) to manage their size given their location along the boundary. To fell a 4th smaller hornbeam that has a lean due to suppression by the 3 larger trees.

Amended as per agreed specification of works on site: T1 HOLLY located adjacent to garage, rear of property - Fell T3 HOLLY located rear of property on boundary with neighbouring property - Reduce height by approx. 1.5m, to leave a finished height of approx. 4.5m to 5m, reshape canopy accordingly T5 GOLDEN CONIFER located centrally to front of property - Fell T6 CHERRY located to front of property - Fell due to poor condition
