T1 - Silver birch - 30% crown thin of the birch tree in the back garden and prune for 1m clearance around the garage roof

T1 - Cherry - fell due to poor vitality and replace with species TBC within next planting season. T2 - Plum - reduce crown 1/3rd and remove limb overhanging shed roof. Prune for 1m clearance of shed roof. T3 - Holly - fell due to poor form

T1 - Willow - Pollard at 5 meters. A willow tree of approximately 12-14m height is positioned to the front garden of the property approximately 7m away from the house. The tree has been trimmed back in the past to control its growth and it is estimated that the tree is around 20 years old based on photographs of the property. The property concerned is Grade II listed and situated within the camp terrace conservation area in north shields to which it is appreciated that the area is recognised for its tree-lined streets and leafy character. The willow tree is currently in an overgrown and uncontrolled state with branch growth encroaching upon the roof of the building with leaves regularly collecting into the building's front gutter and thus an increased need for regular maintenance. There is a lean of the tree's trunk toward the building which although not substantial has some impact on the tree's overall stability. The works are to involve pollarding to keep new growth below the gutter height of the property. A marked-up photograph has been provided alongside this document to highlight the extent of fabric removal. Low level hanging branches will also be trimmed up to head height level so that the tree can be walked under within the garden. Cutting the tree to the extent highlighted will help keep new growth below the gutter height of the property and allow for the tree to be more easily maintained in the future. The pollarding will also help rebalance and control the growth of the tree to counter its lean

x1 Ash (G1) - Reduce upper branches by a maximum of 3.0m to removal all dead wood. x2 Maple (G2) - Reduce 1no lateral branch growing south eastwards by a maximum of 2.0m to provide 2.5m clearance from the building at a height range of between 3.0 to 5.0m above ground level. 1no branch on the eastern side of the canopy, overhanging the car park at a height of 3.5m, is to be reduced by 2.0m. x1 Lime (G3) - Remove 1no snapped branch at a height of approximately 5.0m from the eastern side of the canopy. x1 Ash (G4) - Reduce lateral branches growing in a westerly direction and encroaching towards the property by a maximum of 3.0m to provide a 2.5m clearance from the building and at a height range of between 9.0m and 10.0m above ground level. No reduction of any main branch/limb structure over 15cm (girth). x4 Lime (G4) - Reduce lateral branches growing in a westerly direction and encroaching towards the property by a maximum of 3.0m to provide a 2.5m clearance from the building and at a height range of between 9.0m and 10.0m above ground level. Sycamore (T10) - Reduce 5no. lower branches that are encroaching on to the roof to the east of the canopy by a maximum of 1.5m, with no reduction of any branch/limb structure over 15cm (girth). These works would apply to branches within the higher canopy edge of the tree at approximately 8.0m to10.0m above ground level. to achieve a 2.0m clearance from the building. T13: Sycamore - Reduce 1no branch originating from the tree at approximately 6.0m above ground level in a northerly direction by up to a maximum of 1.5m or back to nearest live growth to achieve a clearance of approximately 2.0m from building. T18, 20 and 21: Sycamore - Remove major dead wood and stubs. Sycamore T18 - Lateral reduction of selective branches to the southeast side of the tree by 1.5m (max) between a height of 5-8m AGL. This would include a target-prune of any branches approaching the roof structure, but would not include any of the main scaffold limbs or main primary branches over 15cm (girth). The works should also tie-in to the remainder of the canopy areas, with respect to shape, form and the natural species characteristics of the tree.
