Trees in a Conservation Area application to remove high West growing branch of mature Beech tree overhanging boundary of 2 The Avenue

Trees in a Conservation Area: G1 Willow - Tie in loose growth and trim, T4, T6 Sycamore - reduce height by 2-3m, prune to balance crown, T5 Ash - option 1 re-inspect in the summer to check for signs of Ash dieback, option 2 Fell as close to ground level as practical, G2 Larch, Elm, Cherry - crown lift, prune back in line with high wire boundary fence to a height of 4m, G3 Laurel, Privet, Cotoneaster, Elder - Trim shrubs, T10 Yew - prune to give 2m clearance from the building and G4 Fruit trees- trim/prune and shape.

Trees in a Conservation Area. T1 Laurel Tree, trim back to boundary wall, T2 Sycamore, T3 Beech, T4 Cherry trim back large overhanging branches and T5 Cherry, trim overhanging branches and branches within close proximity of the telephone/power lines (as amended-11/08/2023).

Trees in a Conservation Area: T1 & T2 Horse Chestnut and a T3 Cherry Tree, T5 Yellow Cherry (aquifolium 'Bacciflava') - prune all listed trees, those with large branches overhanging the main road to have these branches cut back to the property boundary and shown in the photographs in document attached.

Trees in a Conservation Area: T1 is a large Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) - Crown raise to 4m, pruning wound limited to 75 mm in diameter, and maximum branch severance of 2 metres, trim extending branches in remaining crown to form a compact neat shape, pruning wound limited to 50 mm in diameter, and maximum branch severance of 1 metres. T2 Sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus) - Side prune overhanging branches back to boundary, pruning wound limited to 75 mm in diameter, and maximum branch severance of 2 metres.

Trees in a Conservation Area - remove Rowan and Myrobalan Plum Rowan; 8m (Please see accompanying photographs; Dunedin_210723-1 & 2) An early mature Rowan tree stands just over 1m from the boundary wall to its south. This tree is being suppressed by a larger Whitebeam adjacent to it. Since the trees are in such close proximity to each other, the Rowan risks being swamped by its neighbour in due course. There is virtually no crown development on the west & north west sides of the crown currently. There is only adequate space for one tree in this tight location and since the Whitebeam is the dominant and more spreading tree, it would be sensible to pre-empt the Rowan???s demise and remove it now to make room for its neighbour. Myrobalan Plum (Cherry Plum); 7m. (Please see accompanying photographs; Dunedin_210723-3, 4 & 5) This early mature, overgrown tree stands about 2m from the western boundary of the garden. It has been grafted onto alternative rootstock and its imbalanced crown is now leaning to the east by approximately 9??. As is common to the species this specimen is overdense, prone to excessive shooting at its unions and as a result produces a great deal of twiggy deadwood within its crown. Once over-stressed, the species is also susceptible to the presence of fruiting bodies, both within the crown and in proximity to the rootplate; the presence of which will ultimately weaken and overcome the tree once they have taken hold, leading to its rapid decline. Remove tree as a pre-emptive measure.

Trees in a Conservation Area: Beech Boundary Hedge - Reduction to a finished height of around 6 or 7 meters, Mixed Roadside Hedge - Reduction to a finished height of around 5 or 6 meters to bring the hedge down to a height that is manageable.

Trees in a Conservation Area: T1 - Juniper - reduce overlong branches by approx 40% (1.5m), T2 - Ash - Reduce overall canopy by 20% (1.3m), clear branches overhanging boundary and clear telephone cables, G3 : Ash and Sycamore - reduce overall canopy by 20% (0.9m) and clear branches overhanging boundary, T4 - Elm - reduce and lift branches to 5.2m over road, remove small branch resting on wall and sever ivy at base of tree

Trees in a Conservation Area: T1 Lime - Cut back trees overhanging boundary, by maximum of 3m, T2 Horse Chestnut - Cut back branch overhanging fence and G3 Yew & Holly - Cut back trees overhanging boundary.

Trees in a Conservation Area: 312, 313 and 316 Sycamore - raise lower branches to a height of 3 metres, 346 Sycamore - raise lower canopy over neighbours road to 4 metres, 350, 352 Sycamore - reduce and reshape crown by 2-3m and thin crown by 10-15%, 348 and 353 Hawthorn - Fell, 351 Sycamore - Fell, 354 Group of hollies - Remove 2no. stems closest to boundary wall to leave 2 main stems to northern side to become main focal point, reduce height of remaining group down to 12ft and trim in sides, 361 Apple - Fell and 365 Prunus - Reduce to height of wall.
