We wish to reduce the size of the Magnolia tree at the bottom end of our garden. This is the same process that we undertook 5 or 6 years ago, with council approval (Edmund Hopkins). We will reduce the tree to about half its current height, with sides pruned accordingly. The main reason for doing this is to improve light for the houses at the rear of our garden, which this tree overhangs. This tree is not visible from any street, and therefore the reduction will not negatively impact the character of the conservation area.
