We believe that periodic and careful maintenance will prolong the life of this cherished tree which is an important feature of the area. Following the previous refusal of 20/02160/TPO this new application follows the recommendations of the case officer report: 1) Crown thin by up to a maximum of 15% in density, ensuring that the thinning operation is evenly distributed throughout the crown system and not confined to the central crown areas. 2) Crown lifting to a maximum height above ground level of 4.5m achieved primarily by the removal of secondary and sub branches only. 3) Lateral reduction of those branches to over extended lateral branches by around 1.5m 4) All pruning cuts shall be made to suitable secondary growth points. On completion of works the crown shall retain a natural and balance appearance.
