T1-Oak. 3.5-4m radial crown reduction (to include height). Reasons for work: The oak tree is showing signs of decline. The purpose of the reduction is to reduce end weight and mitigate down chance of limb/branch failure, especially as it partially hangs over The Chase ( a busy residential road).

Lime (not Sweet Chestnut) tree no.14 - Cut back/reduce single large diameter branch to SW at 9.5m by 1m to leave branch approx. 3.5m in length. Sever and remove ivy on trunk between 0-1.5m. Beech tree no.15 - Crown reduce lateral branches to W, S/W by up to 2m to leave branches approx. 6m in length & cut back/crown lift third order branches only to provide 5m clearance above ground level. Sever and remove ivy on trunk between 0-1.5m. Sycamore tree no.32 - Crown reduce by up to 2m to leave branches approx. 8m in length. Sever and remove ivy on trunk between 0-1.5m. Crown lift/cut back second and third order branches only to achieve 5m clearance above ground level. Remove epicormic growth on trunk between 0-5m & sever and remove ivy on trunk between 0-1.5m. Sycamore tree no.68 - Crown reduce height/top of crown and lateral branches to S, E & W by up to 2m to leave lateral branches approx. S:8m, E:6m, W: 7m in length. Cut back/crown lift third order branches only to achieve 5m clearance above ground level. Oak tree no.75 - Remove major deadwood. Sycamore tree no.77 - Crown reduce lateral branches to S, S/W by up to 2m to leave branches approx. 6.5m in length & cut back/crown lift third order branches to S, SW only to provide 5m clearance above ground level. For reasons of good arboricultural maintenance and to increase light levels to residential gardens.

Fell Copper Beech tree (REI/52 T20), stump grind and undertake replacement planting of a tree species/size more appropriate for the location. Reasons for felling are: i) To prevent further damage to adjacent retaining wall which has become cracked due to direct root contact ii) To prevent further damage to adjacent paving which has cracked, lifted and become displaced by seasonal shrinking/swelling of the soil. iii) To reduce risk of future damage to foul sewers and water main in very close proximity. iv) To reduce risk of future damage to the foundations of 31 Alma Road. v) To provide sustainable long-term visual amenity by re-planting with a tree species more apropriate for the location which will complement a well-maintained front garden. Further detailed evidence is provided in a separate document 'Statement of Supporting Evidence'. To compensate for any perceived loss of visual amenity, it is proposed that the tree be replaced by a slower growing species or one with a smaller mature spread/height which is more appropriate for a medium sized residential garden. Suggested species are Prunus 'Snow showers' or Prunus 'Umineko' to be planted in a similar location to the existing TPO tree.

Sycamore, Hawthorn, Lime, Ash T27, T47, T48, T62, T69, T70 - Linear group of trees located on the boundary with plots 15-18 to south west of new residential development site - Cut back lateral branches by 3m to north, to 1m inside new fence line, to abate nuisance of overhanging branches towards new residential house gardens.

Ash T14 - Fell due to close proximity to new residential property and fence boundary. Replant: with 16/18cm girth Fagus sylvatica tree species in the same position/as close as practically possible

Sycamore T369 - Monolith at a height of 8m due to cavity at 13-14.5m (150x25cm) on SW side of trunk. Seam, crack and cavity NE between 13-15m (200x5cm). Reason: unacceptable risk to residential property. Replant: with 16/18cm girth Fagus sylvatica tree species in the same position/as close as practically possible Sycamore T9 - Pollard branches by pruning back 5.5m of existing branch length (to 1.5m inside/east of new boundary fence) & remove twisting branch SW at 4.5m back to origin/trunk Reason: Tree over-topped by neighbouring trees hence very poor crown conformation, lost apical dominance, squirrel damaged, multi wounds throughout crown, unacceptable long-term risk to residential property. T46 Sycamore - Fell to as close to ground level. Reason; ivy covered, very poor physiological condition/crown conformation and of short term potential. Replant: with 16/18cm girth Fagus sylvatica tree species in the same position/as close as practically possible 47 Sycamore - Fell to as close to ground level Reason; Poor physiological condition/crown conformation. Broken storm damaged branch NW at 3m and of short term potential. Replant: with 16/18cm girth Fagus sylvatica tree species in the same position/as close as practically possible
