T3 mature sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus) as shown in Appendix A - sketch plan, is within the area TPO T2/112/A1 Recommend fell to ground level. The work is required because the tree, which has a significant and worsening lean over the residential property from approximately 10 degrees to >30 degrees which has declined over the last 9 years, has evidence of soil erosion around the roots, early signs of decay cavity at the base of the tree to the south of the trunk, evidence of soft rot (possibly due to Honey Fungus) in other trees in the vicinity (some of which have failed), loss of protection of other trees which have failed resulting in T3 being vulnerable to prevailing easterly winds, all of which have resulted in a ISA Risk Rating of High Risk The work to remove the tree is recommended to mitigate the risk of harm to people and damage to property There are a significant number of sycamore saplings within the surrounding woodland which have naturalised and will replace T3. I would not recommend replacement in close proximity to T3 due to the high banking and presence of Honey Fungus leading to future similar issues of failure in replacement trees.

The two trees in question are on our land which is to the rear of our house on Greens Lane. We own most of the wooded area in which the trees are located. The arborist has recommended that the Elm tree is removed completely due to the danger is poses to the house shown on the plan diagram. There was also some discussion about the Ash tree right next to it, that is in danger of falling and the potential damage it could cause to the road and drains. I therefore request that we remove or severely cut down the two trees in question as I do not want to be liable for any damage that they may cause.

There are four trees along the right side of the wooded area. The branches are over hanging my roof (property no 26). I have the fear they will cause damage to my roof if they break. I want to cut these back to the property line so if they do break, they will fall into the woodland instead of my house. The trees are protected and I have spoken to the land owner, they are happy for them to be cut back. The four trees are all sycamores. I have spoken to the council and they have sent me the tree preservation order.
